Today we have a silent invasion. They’re not dropping bombs from bombers or launching missiles.
Yet.
That was a huge but often overlooked subplot to the movie. It's alleged that most of the occupation forces snuck into the United States by illegally crossing the Southern border.

"Infiltrators came up illegally from Mexico. Cubans mostly. They managed to infiltrate SAC bases in the Midwest, several down in Texas and wreaked a hell of a lot of havoc, I'm here to tell you. They opened up the door down here, and the whole Cuban and Nicaraguan and Latin American armies come walking right through, rolled right up here through the Great Plains."
Referring to a line in the movie. Might want to rewatch it.

I might have to also. The part that was impressive to me was the Ruskie paratroops landing near the school.

Directed by John Milius. Good movie.

The emotional child has entered the discussion. I don’t know how you make it through the day with all the different groups hunting you and all the camps being built. I can’t imagine what you through on a daily basis. It must be exhausting just getting out of bed.

Also liked The Wind and the Lion. Damn the Legations.

Even the people who made this movie would say this is a ridiculous statement.

It’s a tv program, a movie.

If Red Dawn were ever a reality, we'd be fighting our own government, not the Russians and Latin Americans.
Sadly, this! 100%

It was a fun movie but not very realistic. F-15 gets shot down. Yeah right.
Uh....it was 5-1 and he got four of them.
