Wilson brought us the FED.
Getting to worst president will not be an easy feat for Joe.

It just depends on the recession and this could be worse than 2008
I’ve been in food manufacturing since 2006. As a young professional, 2008 didn’t even register. The only people I knew impacted were older guys whose 401ks were decimated. Business was great and jobs were never at risk - people need to eat.
Now….Wheat planting is short, fertilizer is short. Eggs are up 300% and transportation is up 35%. Packing is up. Cost of goods is skyrocketing, IF you can secure enough to make your products. And that’s a big IF.
This year I took price increases as high as 85%.
I thought I had a salt of the earth job, but if basic food is this risky, everything falls apart. Everything.

I'm union and work for military housing. I'm safe. Can't wait to buy some liberals properties for cheap in a few years.

I knew a recession was coming when I watched the USG spend more money than it took in. Every president that did this is responsible for the coming recession. The ones who did it most carry the most responsibility.
When W took office, we owed 6 T. Obama 10.7T. Trump 20T. Biden 23T, and we now owe 30T.

Look, I also hate Brandon, but you should read up on the Wilson administration.
Agreed. The Wilson administration started this train towards this marxist uptopia that we are coming very close to achieving.
1913 - 16th amendment was ratified allowing congress to pass an income tax and later that year they did just that to give us a permanent income tax via the Revenue Act of 1913. Newly minted Pres. Woodrow Wilson gladly signed it into law.
The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 was signed by Wilson and began the takeover of an elite few controlling the currency of the US and the world.
Margaret Sanger founded planned parenthood in 1916 to kill off the deplorables (in her mind) through abortion. She was a elitest and very racist. Wilson shared many of Sanger's ideals.

Well we farm and I was one ton short on finishing fertilizing our hay fields so yesterday I went back to the feed store to pick up another ton to finish the fields.
In just 5 days fertilizer jumped almost $300 ton ($1350 ton) compared to what I paid a few days earlier. I about shite my pants. I was only paying around $600 ton last yr. This was for 37-0-0 fertilizer.
Inflation is getting much worse and there is no end to it because the cost of fertilizer and fuel keeps going up and the recent jumps have NOT been factored into the food prices yet.
I still can't set my hay prices until I start cutting in June because I have zero idea what diesel is going to be yet in June.

I hope you are cutting quality horse hay, going to be hard to make those numbers works with cattle hay. This drought is working in your favor though.

Personally most of us are experiencing recession on an individual level.
Inflation is outranging income, we're losing purchasing power.

do you think you will see fewer people in tiger stadium this fall?

I see bullshite thrown at the guy here (“Trump shut down the economy over Covid” is one of the dumber ones), but this is undeniable. He wasn’t a fiscal conservative. I would have crawled over broken glass to vote for him over the idiot we have now, but a spade is a spade.

I had lunch with our company president the other day and he seems to think its gonna hit hard this fall.
Look at the price of fuel. Gas is $4/gal here in NELA, diesel is pushing $6/gal.
The cost of just about EVERYTHING is going up daily.
Fertilizer, food, fuel, clothing, medicines, tires, cars & trucks, tractors, heavy machinery, lumber, electrical supplies, replacement parts for just about anything imaginable... and the list goes on and on.
Then there is scarcity of everyday items, tires, tools, medicines, food, clothing, baby formula...
People are in debt up to their ears, housing & construction projects are going up everywhere, folks are paying nearly double for cars & trucks than a couple of years ago...but if the economy goes bust,
the fall is going to be hard.
Get prepared & be vigilant. Times could get desperate for millions & millions of people. Folks will do things they normally would not do in good times.
It may already be too late for many though.
I will throw out a few things.
Water is your most important resource.
Get a gravity-fed water filtration system to filter your drinking water from a company like DoultonUSA water systems.
Get some pool shock in case you have to make your drinking water safe from all the crap that can kill you like bacteria, cholera, giardia...
Food. Food buckets that are being advertised everywhere are decent but canned food is your best bet. Our bodies need good, nutritious food for us to be well. Most food buckets are loaded with salts, preservatives, fillers, chemicals...that are not that good.
Also, get a couple of good high-quality camper stoves like the Coleman Stoves with cans of propane for cooking.
Protection. Weapons and ammo which most know about.
Keep a low-profile or what is called the 'gray man' concept or OPSEC. I am not saying be a hermit or lone wolf but don't brag about your preps to your friends, co-workers, neighbors, even family members. That goes for social media as well.
As the old saying goes 'loose lips sink ships'
Here's a good website on preparedness that does not have a lot of pop-ups or BS that is very straight forward and easy to follow.

So, if you've got some stability, use the low interest rates to get fixed rate mortgages on productive farmland or timberland and hold onto those natural resources because they're about to be worth several times their current value.

We only cut horse hay and all my hay is already pre-sold before it hits the ground.
We have a severe shortage of hay here for BOTH horses and cattle. People are paying $400 ton for hay here right.
One huge issue here a good percentage of farmers sell their hay on the international market for higher prices which causes shortages for the local hay buyers and I come in and fill that void that is why hay is in such demand here. Its good for my business.

Question: If a recession is headed our way…. how “recession proof” is your job? Will your employment be safe …or …will you likely be let go?
Since I work for the enemy (the Feds) you can guess how safe mine is.
There is always talk about buyouts but only one time has there been any offered, that was in 1989 after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the "peace dividend", and they weren't offered in the DFW area. We are always "understaffed" here so I'm not betting on anything.

Realtor. If I wasn’t in Tuscaloosa I’d be more concerned.
Tuscaloosa is pretty close to recession proof. Between the university expansion and Mercedes. That’s a significant part of the economy which isn’t affected.

You must not remember the Reduction In Force under Obama. I knew a lot of people cut from the military
On the civilian side of DoD I remember the three years with ZERO pay raises (the only raise I got was a promotion) and the six days of "sequestration" where we didn't get paid after the fact (the good news is that we still get credit for those days in our service time).

Yes. Some folks have been hacked off at LSU's leadership and already cancelled their season tickets. Others are going to have to choose between season tickets and seasoning.
