How noble of the FBI. 
While that may well be a plausible dynamic...a lot of them (Deep State) bought in to the Transnational Progressive Ideology. Globalism. They attended Universities that pushed it, almost exclusively...and their whole life/career now hangs in the balance.
There are all degrees of 'sin' up there in DC; many were duped by info coming down to their desk. I'm sure Lucifer could give a very altruistic reason, for his/it's choice. It's all coming out in the wash.

This would just be the excuse if or when they are busted.
The entire IC and State dept keep this card in their designer pants back pocket. I'm sure they have used it on naive politicians who got too close to the truth on occasion to great effect.

It’s become clear that the fbi’s job is to run interference for the political class. I once thought of the FBI as the most unbiased, premier law enforcement agency in the world. It’s not, it needs to be disbanded.

It's known that J. Edgar knew where every skeleton in DC was hiding. It's with this knowledge that he became one of the most powerful people in the country. No one dared go to the mat with him as he wielded to much power. Today's FBI is Hoovers on steroids and defines The Deep State and shadow government.

Our alphabet agencies are too corruptedly stupid to realize that the sooner they serve up their corrupt inserted commies at the top, and what dirty Congress folks they have the goods on..
The sooner the Swamp can get back to it's usual dirty biz..it isn't ever going away despite a Trump campaign slogan. The permanent govt overlords will outlast the elected. Black hats have staying power.
America is long overdue for some DC heads to roll, real ones, not token subordinates. You gotta give the public the sense that we are not 100% in clown world..because that's what it now appears. Some form of faith in the system must be restored..
Otherwise, why pay in, opt in, buy in, participate in, to some remnant dystopian republic drifting into End of Days/The Second Coming territory.

So you are telling me that, in theory, the FBI is overlooking child porn rings, pay to play schemes that would even compromise their own cases, or even the Republic itself (that they are trying to protect in your theory), etc .....to save the Republic?
