I believe the FBI knows that if the true nature and scope of crimes or shady stuff that elected officials-on both sides -engage in is known then they fear that the entire system of government collapses and chaos ensues.

Almost like they are acting like a protector of the republic as warped as that may sound.

Sucks but I think that’s what goes on.

Insert Trump, who has no ties or loyalties to any political norms or those associated with them and you have a big problem. He can blow the lid and ask questions that the FBI doesn’t want being promulgated in public by the President.

I truly believe this.

How are they protecting the republic by allowing the duly elected President to be impeached over Biden’s misdeeds in Ukraine? How is that helpful to anyone?

I believe they 100% protect one side over and over again.

They certainly don't seem to be slow walking or hiding anything with regards to a Trump associate, though. They have been charging/prosecuting/jailing anyone they can get to in Trump's inner circle, even if they have to manufacture process crimes along the way to get them.

You give the corrupt FBI and its leaders WAY too much credit. They are just as culpable as the politicians.

My personal opinion is that the fbi has an agenda and it is NOT favorable to regular hard working honest americans.

If you'd done what these corrupt bastards have done you'd be taking the midnight express from Tiny and the boys by now.

They’re not preserving a damn thing by hiding crimes committed by government officials.

When the government refuses to follow the laws, the people not following the law is not far behind.

I think there’s a good argument to be made that the political process should decide such things. Problem lies when there are so many trying so hard to subvert that process.

Except they deliberately participated in a political coup against the President and fricking published it in Yahoo news to obtain FISA warrants. Then, they blasted it on cable news for 3 years. There is no logic to your post.

Again yes. I think they also have family members that are trading off their names with foreign entities and govt’s.

So yes, if you blow the lid off the entire “business as usual” or “the reality of how things work” the entirety of the nation collapses.

If we were allowed to publicly be creative with our torture and execution techniques, the corruption would stop quickly.

Just let me pick 6, and the rest will willingly confess.

That's plagiarized from Julian Assange. He said two or three years ago if he exposed everything he has access to the U.S.government would implode.

I beg to differ.

In their minds, You are preserving the semblance of society and avoiding straight chaos and anarchy.

Almost like you have to accept some corruption so that the masses can continue to live their lives under the illusion of stability of government and societal order.

I have long thought that we live under an illusion of reality.

Call me Julian then.

Because I believe this! I had no idea that Assange had said something similar.

He is correct.
