I think it's already been renewed for a second second (err, 11th) season.

Do you really need a sitcom to be on TV to validate your worldview?

Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing was doing great in the ratings but the show was pulled because the characters were conservative.

Jesus you people have a persecution complex.

It ran for 6 seasons, had okay ratings, was licensed from another studio, and it's star's contract was expiring.

what proof do you have that it WASN'T a financial decision?

The fact that no show with such high ratings has ever been cancelled. It was the second highest rated sitcom behind Big Bang Theory. It is unheard of for a show to be cancelled with such high ratings especially after it's sixth season. When in most cases it takes 7 seasons of success before a show has enough episodes in the bank to make it big in syndication which is where the big money is. There were exactly no hints or rumors of Last Man Standing being cancelled.

It was tied for fifth in Nielsen ratings out of shows that were cancelled the same year.

Yes it was. It was one of ABC's best watched sitcoms. I can't recall exactly where but top 5 on ABC iirc.

It wouldn't be the first time a show with great ratings was cancelled. The Jeffersons were cancelled with no warning nor reason given and they were in the top 10 (maybe even top 5) their last season.

In all fairness though I doubt Roseanne gets pulled prematurely. She has a much bigger platform than Tim Allen, her show brought in a metric frickton of viewers and it's just the first couple of episodes.

If Allen were to come back with Home Improvement though, I think the nostalgia factor would pull in ratings about like Roseanne's and that would definitely be enough to keep it from getting suddenly yanked regardless of a conservative message.

You don't think the media eschews conservative points of view? Hell, even Hollywood knows they live deeply within their own liberal bubble.

Originally I thought, like everybody else, that she would not be a supporter of Trump. But the moment we got in the writers’ room with Roseanne, she really wanted to be a supporter of Trump, not because she is one herself, but there are a lot of people in the Midwest who voted for him. We had debates and discussions. (Writer) Dave Kaplan and I were two of the people who had least understood that there are people who voted for him who aren’t misogynists or racists and who felt betrayed by other administrations.

So the writers had to have "debates and discussions" to come to an understanding that people who voted for Trump "aren't misogynists or racsts" but there's no reason to believe conservatives aren't persecuted in the media?

A show that celebrates abortion, promotes gay and transgenders, and makes fun of conservative values is being celebrated by conservatives. What a world we live in.

So your response to being presented proof that backs up a claim is to be patronizing? Interesting defense mechanism.

I'd be more worried that her show would be pulled because she's probably the next in line for Chief of Staff based on the current trend of turnover

Your argument would pass unopposed if you’re talking about purely consumer goods industries like paper towels and trash bags. But let’s be frank the media in all its forms (TV, movies, print) certainly provides value beyond $ to people interested in influencing national consciousness.

Yeah, but probably on a Fox network. Who owns the show. As in, at a much lower cost.

There were articles written this week by your ilk completely slamming Roseanne for "normalizing" Trump. Reign in your fringe left brethren (the fringe is now the norm for the left). Once that happens you can whine about your disgust of conservative persecution.

Friecking Roseanne and Trump being considered far right just shows how far left you whackos have gone.
