I’ll go ahead and spoil it for you. Nothing will happen. If it got to actual gun grabbing, yes; via legislation, no.
They don’t need to grab guns, they can tax ownership to create black paperweights. Keep your guns, you can’t afford to shoot them.

You’re right and that goes along with my point that the legislative route will not bring about a collective response from conservatives whereas actual gun grabbing would.

They’ll continue to make their magazines the same way and make a component inside the mag to stop the load at 10. It’ll be the customers choice whether to leave that widget inside the mag and stay compliant or remove it at their own discretion. Mark it down.

That is how I figure it will go as well.

Don't think this has ever been the plan. They'll just see to it that ammo is impossible to find and hi-cap mags are unavailable.

They can make whatever law they want. There is over 400 million guns in the US. Come get them and find out what that "red line" is.

Manufacturers will sell a magazine that is really long but will hold ten.
Easily modified by the end user to hold more and absolve them of recompense

That first one especially is a flat out no. No way in hell people are going to sign up for that shite. Here criminals: here is a blueprint to where my guns and ammo are stored.
The compliance will be abysmal.

People who are willing to commit murder do not care what gun control laws are. If they can't get guns they will build bombs, use a cross bow, run over someone with a car, use a ball bat etc.
This isn't to stop murderers, it is to take guns from those that would protect themselves from an abusive government. Make no mistake, it will also be used and abused to target people who do not agree with the powers that be.
I cannot believe the Supreme Court would hold this to be constitutional and a good many states would be "sanctuary states". Still it reflects their mindset of absolute power in the hands of the government.

Might want to say component instead of proponent

The 9th ruled, last year, that the California magazine capacity limit was unconstitutional. If that lib institution struck it down then there's no way it would stand up to a conservative SC. Even with RINO Roberts siding with the liberals.

The scary looking gun and 10+ mag registration compliance rate in California is around 3%.
In NY and Conn. it is around 10%.
Very few will comply with these laws.
A cottage industry of homemade mags will spring up. They can be 3-D printed.
Posted on 2/16/21 at 4:39 pm to WhitewaterDawg
They already do to comply with fricking stupid jurisdictions.
Glock sells a mag of 6 for states like NJ for guns where you can have up to 34 in a mag.

Not only that, but I feel like if criminals and gangs can get their hands on any sorta firearm known to man, fully automatic included, the halfway creative "normal" citizen would eventually become wise as to how also to get what they need.
