Question for other Catholics about the Pope

I don't know enough about the process. But is there any hope to get a better Pope after Francis?
If the same COC selected Francis, then who's to say they won't select another liberal Jesuit? Is there any chance to get a more traditiona/orthodox conservative Catholic? Bishop Vigano or someone like him is what we need right now. Someone that can call evil out for what it is.

Are there rules around what the pope can and cannot do? If so, do Catholics have access to those rules? Serious question.
Wondering if the church could do without a Pope, and in starting to think about that, it’s what occurred to me.

I'd say the odds of getting a polar opposite of Francis is slim to none.

The catholic church has been compromised by the WEF.

Bishops need to be more outspoken. I am not aware of any doctrine where Bishops can't call out a Pope who is not following Cahtolic teachings. It needs to be done or we are setting up a precedent for an evil worse Pope that could make things even worse.

There can't be a new Pope, unless the current Pope dies.

Is this one THE False Prophet?

I have a feeling they will choose someone even more liberal than Francis next time.

The best choice would be a Cardinal from Africa, and no I'm not joking, but that would be the polar opposite of what we have now and thus not allowed to happen.

I agree, but you have this to contend with:

Go back to thinking "Cheerios or Fruit Loops". Leave questios about Catholicism and its traditions to others. Just saying. BTW, Merry Christmas!

Any Catholic that believes in killing babies is a fake Catholic.
Sorry not sorry.

Not true. Pope Benedict resigned and is still alive.

Unfortunately we'll get at least another pope such as Francis with the current Cardinals in place.
Future popes will be the judge of this current pontificate and will address any ambiguity Francis is forwarding in his teachings.
All we can do is continue to hold to Our true doctrine, follow the Magisterium which laid out the teaching Traditions of the Church for over 2000yrs.
Continue to pray and if you have not yet develop a prayful life. At the end of the day we have to trust Jesus Christ with his Mother Mary that the Church will prevail any dark times we are being lead through.

I think there’s a great chance the next pope is more traditional than him. I personally know priests in Rome, and contrary to the opinion on this board, it’s not a giant hive of communism.

I’m not Catholic but I’ve studied it a bit and it does’t look good for the future of Catholicism.
Obviously the COC elects Popes when the previous one dies or retires. Only Cardinals less than 80 years old can vote for the next Pope. As Cardinals age out or die, the current Pope elevates new men to Cardinal. Because of this, a Pope can choose the direction of the RCC through his appointments (much like a President’s SCOTUS nominations can shape our country long after he is out of office).
Francis has remade the COC and they will likely choose someone like Francis or perhaps even more liberal as his successor.
