Soooooo…we have some trust issues here that would suggest one shouldn’t prepare for peace just yet.

Putin never approached this as a good faith actor that was going to hold to any accord save for the temporary measures that gave him to rearm, conscript, and take advantage.

This is nothing new. Russia does this twice a year.

So twice a year Putin issues a call to draft a record number of conscripts since the war began??

You're really having to contort yourself into a pretzel this time to make excuses for your Dear Leader.

What is Putin going to do with all these new fighters? Are they going to make a new push or fortify their gains, or a combo of both?

Liberal American women - "I will no longer sleep with men, particularly white men."

Russian and Ukranian women - "Our men are all dead...please take care of us and let us take care of you."

Old Liberal American cat women in the future - "I can't believe all of the American men took on these trophy wives from Russia and Ukraine. I guess they couldn't handle real American women."

Is Putin going to make another push? Is he going for Odessa?
My guess is Moldova, Georgia or Azerbajian.

This is what happens when you're so stupid as to go golfing with Lindsey Graham.
I'm curious if Susie Wiles has been encouraging this stupidity or advising against it.

For somebody who has the name "Russian" on this board, you don't seem to understand this situation. It should be obvious by now that it's Zelensky's handlers who want war rather than peace.

How many times has Zelensky gone back-and-forth on this? Hell, Zelensky seemed excited about the prospects for peace 2-3 years ago, but the powers-that-be sent globalist puppet Boris Johnson to talk him out of it.

I don't know. He has stopped taking my phone calls.

You'll have to ask Comrade Snitchkovsy. He's the poster who boot licks Putin...

I see no value in conquering these states unless it's easy and the costs is super low. Odessa is valuable because then Putin can control all access to the Black Sea.

You mean the ceasefire Zelensky has refused to recognize?

The writing is on the wall.

Zelensky has said in almost every way possible that a ceasefire isn't going to happen.

So twice a year Putin issues a call to draft a record number of conscripts since the war began??

Yes. This is nothing new and standard even before the War. The numbers are close to previous conscriptions. Grok 3 breaks it down for you.

Russia conducts mandatory military conscription twice a year, in spring and autumn, a practice rooted in its long-standing tradition of universal military obligation. As of 2025, all male citizens aged 18 to 30 are subject to a 12-month draft, unless they qualify for specific exemptions or deferments. The spring conscription period typically runs from April 1 to July 15, while the autumn period spans October 1 to December 31.
Each campaign’s size is set by a presidential decree; for example, the spring 2025 draft, signed by President Vladimir Putin on March 31, 2025, calls up 150,000 conscripts, consistent with recent years like spring 2024 (150,000) and autumn 2024 (133,000).

This system has evolved over time. Historically, conscription in Russia dates back to the Imperial era under Peter I, with terms of service once lasting decades. By the Soviet period, a two-year draft was standard, reduced to one year in 2008 under modern reforms. The age ceiling was raised from 27 to 30 in 2023, effective January 1, 2024, expanding the pool of eligible men. Conscripts undergo initial basic training (one to two months) followed by advanced training (three to six months) before assignment to units. Legally, they cannot be deployed to fight outside Russia, though this rule has been breached in past conflicts, such as Ukraine, often sparking public concern.
Exemptions include health issues, full-time study, or having multiple children, while alternative civilian service is an option for conscientious objectors, though it lasts longer (18-21 months) and carries social stigma. Avoiding the draft is a felony, punishable by up to 26 months in prison, and enforcement has tightened with digital summonses introduced in 2023. The biannual drafts are routine, not tied to specific conflicts, though they fuel debates about transitioning to a fully professional army, especially given issues like hazing and poor conditions that drive evasion attempts. Public sentiment, particularly during wartime, often views conscription as a sensitive, even contentious, obligation.
