Please. Weak argument is weak. The driver is in a 1/2 ton metal object that is mobile and secure, and you want to justify using said object as a weapon.

I gather the tranny assaulted the officer. At least that's what some other tranny on Twitter said.

Another way to write that sentence is, "There really isn't any decent evidence on this situation yet......"

But, you have to take off your leftist hate hat first.

And good Old Reginald had a greater than 1/2 ton vehicle.

It would appear that he SHOULD have just run some frickers over.

Obviously we haven't seen video of this yet but the two photos that have been posted look as if the two pedestrians jumped on the vehicle

Yeah, we need to hold a vigil in the middle of the goddamn street

The lady in the stripped dress (thought it was pants earlier) was about 10 feet in front in an earlier picture. The guy on the hood looked guilty, but it is unclear if the group was reacting to the car pushing through the crowd before the first picture. Everyone seems to have their attention towards the car in the first one.

Luckily no one was seriously hurt. Jury still out on specifics.

Frankly, judging by the photos, it looks like a better description of what car did was the car creeped through the protesters.

Dude on the hood is practically COMFORTABLE there and winding up to beat on the window. Girl on the hood managed to roll herself to the side of the car.

I mean, if that car had even been doing 15 mph, that's not how that goes down.

Finally, the fact there were no bad injuries indicates the car was barely moving. One last note. Car's wheels are turned.

This looks like some protester melodrama to me.

The woman has both hands firmly planted on the hood as if she is going to jump, turn and land on her butt.

To me it looks like a case of folks jumped on the car and then the car drove off.

Yep.

At most, it looks like a car barely moving.

I'm sorry. When two parties are involved, the ones on the street aren't absolved of common sense.

If a car says, "frick it. I'm just going to let off the gas and let the car creep through the crowd at a speed where an 80 year old in a walker could avoid being hit, that shite is on the crowd.

"Comfortable" is probably pushing the envelope a bit.

This is nothing like Charlottesville, but it is still a car hitting some people. Then of course there is the hit and run aspect. Even at 5 or 10 mph that is assault and some other charges.

Either way, I think we can agree that this isn't some HUGE deal, but prosecutors might want to strut to make sure there aren't any other drivers testing the grey areas. Agree?

I'll be interested to see what other info comes out.

Speaking for myself. If I were confronted with a crowd blocking me. I wouldn't stop. ESPECIALLY if I had family members in the car.

But, I'm also not trying to Death Race 2000 it either. I just want to extract myself from the situation. If I have a course other than through the crowd, I'll take it.

But, if the crowd is my only choice, I'm probably going to let off the gas and creep and honk making it abundantly clear that people can get out of the way.

At that point, it's really on the crowd as to how it goes down. Ideally, I creep through, maybe a few assholes slap my car and it's over.

IF someone jumps on my car and ends up falling off and getting hurt, sorry, I'm not sticking around. That's the part I want to see here. I don't think any rational person is going to STOP in that crowd. I mean, people have seen TV. They're not just going to hop out and say beat my arse.

So, did the person "run" as in "get themselves out of the situation" or, did they "run" as in never intend to be found.

Also. If they crept through and people jumped on then rolled off their hood, would they even consider it "hit and run"? I don't know that I would even think of it as me "hitting" someone if they jumped on MY car.

All of these are things that we are left to guess at and worse, all of the eyewitnesses suck in terms of credibility.

So. Absent actual video, we won't know.

I just don't think it's reasonable to ask drivers to sit there and wait to become the next dude drug out of a car and beaten.
