Ultimately bc he's the Commander in Chief and this is a military aircraft that transports him, his family and his staff?

At all? Because it's not actually AF1 unless he steps on board.

I wasn't in favor of changing but now I am. How petty by the Dems. This should be something that's entirely decided by the Executive Branch.

Good luck.

I don't think it's petty. Presidents change paint colors and decorations in the White House often. I just prefer the current, it looks cool and different.

Why did Jackie Kennedy have anything to do with AF1's paint scheme?

Civics lesson #1.
The President is the Commander in Chief.

Yeah. Remember when Obama changed the WH draperies from the drab blue under GWB to the Muslim gold?

No one has done more to goldify the white house than DJT and that is a fact

We need a big arse eagle's head painted over the nose. Kenny Powers needs to be on the door.

Light blue is a very dated color. Looks like something out of the 60's, which it is. Definitely time for a change.

The current paint job is ugly to me. Dark blue projects strength and authority more than the color commonly associated with newborns.

Well, the two aircraft are for all intensive porpoises his personal 747’s while he is in office, and neither of them become AF1 unless he is on board. I would think it was odd if the President didn’t have some input on the plane’s design and construction.
Also, as another poster pointed out earlier, I was hesitant regarding this change because I like the blue. But if Democrats are going to be petty enough to actually make this a political issue and attempt to “block it”, then by all means, lets change the paint scheme today.

I like it. I liked the old scheme just because it's AF1. The new one looks better.
Knowing some heads will explode over a paint job... I love it.

He should submit a new design that is solid red with white lettering.

Planes won't be ready until 2024 or 25. Doubt whether he or his family ever sets foot...

This has to be the first time Trump has ever decided to take gold paint OFF of something
