Almost every decision is made to help a few and it hurts more.

For argument sakes: It makes no sense to have 25 million people lose jobs so that 5 million can make $15 an hour. Absolutely no sense

I never understood why they chose to double it. Past MW raises were marginal like 1 dollar or less.

They would likely have better luck pushing for 9 dollars

You know what? Good. The people who will be out of a job because they don't actually provide work worth $15 an hour voted for this. Screw em.

Naw frick that cause I make salary and my cost of living will go up and I won’t get a damn raise to compensate for it

Raising min wage to $15 an hr from $7.5 in Louisiana? All career oriented just took a $7.5 paycut because your employer ain’t gonna give you a $7.5 raise.

That $15/hr benefit will be instantly absorbed in unemployment lines. Millions will lose their job, and prices will go up, deflating the dollar. Then, small business bankruptcies and foreclosures will follow.... It is nothing more than "redistribuitng the wealth".

And another "vote collection" tactic.....

This guy must be muzzled! He spews ignorance!

Yea, because $15 an hour is the same no matter where you live!

Hey why only $15 an hour why not make it $30, 50, or even $100?

When did the time first arise when minimum wage should have been $15/hr and what was the trigger for that?

There is simply no reason to think that the minimum wage in California or NY should be the same as Louisiana or South Dakota

You can view politics the same way.

It is equally insane to thing that someone in North Dakota and someone in south Louisiana share the same local political views. So why do we all keep voting for an initial of a federal party in every local and state election without a single thought about the man in front of the initial?

I disagree with your premise. Is your claim that local politics don't affect who runs for office or that those politicians don't represent those local issues when they get to washington? I don't think either of those is correct in general. Further, you can say that local issues in ND and LA are different, but that voters in those two states are aligned on national issues like regulation of markets, immigration, national defense, judges, etc. In that case, it would not be surprising at all that people with different political views at the micro level would have similar views at the macro level.
