Just listened to a former Green Beret that trained with IDF.

He stated there are about 300 miles of tunnels under Gaza. Some of the first teams to go in will be the engineers that will blow the tunnels.

I see this as a beehive beneath Gaza. As the tunnels blow ....Gaza simply collapses into itself.

Palestinians are caught between a rock and a cement wall. Egypt has closed it's borders. They don't want a population of rats either ....

I hope they can use remote controlled vehicles for a lot of it.

I’m sure they can just send in a few Roombas with C4 on them.

IIRC, the warning was posted around 5-7AM Israel time yesterday, meaning deadline should be up in a few hours.

When the rooster starts crowing, I expect some Israeli fried terrorists.

Will go one of two ways...

1. Israel goes in and tries to minimize collateral damage, gets bogged down and pulls back...

2. Israel goes in and executes a war how a war should be executed... The world, including eventually the U.S. rails against all the dead Palestinian children...

The tunnels will cause problems for them either way...

My prediction is that Israel will move fast, capitalizing on the international outrage over the terrorist attack, and hit Gaza very hard. Hard enough that there will be an outcry afterwards.
*the key word is "afterwards"... they will do what they NEED to do to secure that area, and worry about the words later.

I'd start by splitting the country into thirds. Perform two assaults east-west across the strip to the Med.

North to south would be more tactically sound. When moving N to S you reduce the chances of the enemy encircling you from the back because you have the Med and Israel on your flanks. When going from east to west you leave an enemy-occupied flank which has to be protected.

In any event, it isn't going to be a nice straight line anyway. It is going to be slow going I would imagine, maybe a month or possibly much more to take Gaza City and everything north of Wadi Gaza. Hamas has almost certainly built up a lot of home field advantage.

Saw an article where the IDF had about 12 of these bad boys lined up along with Merkava tanks.

The problem with this situation is Hamas and Islamic Jihad (different but IJ is more extreme) are rivals in Gaza. Given that power struggle, both groups have gained increased distrust amongst the average Gaza resident. They have faced increased backlash from normal folks living there that state things like:

"Most Gazans have stopped believing in Hamas and the others," she says. "You know why? Because they don't feed us, they don't provide anything. You have to depend on yourself. How can we build a future with these guys? And all the back to back wars?"

So basically we want to raize the entire area and kill the people living there who really have a distaste for conflict and the extremists amongst them. I'm sure the average person living in Gaza might not be happy with Israeli neighbors, but they are certainly able to live peacefully. I just have an issue killing everyone there that really don't share the views of Hamas. Wipe the extremists off the planet, but why the average citizen?

Its like someone showing up at my door wanting to kill me for Joe Biden's policies. I have nothing in common with that idiot and don't want to be labelled and killed just because we live in the same country.

That’s must be why they don’t vote for Hamas. Oh.

Unrelenting bombing. 3 days later bring in the ground forces to sort out the dead and any hiding in the crevices. So bomb all day Sunday and Monday next Friday roll in with armored vehicles and troops. Everything will be Boobie trapped so will be a slow go grind for about 3 weeks

Leaving women and children sounds like the right thing to do but you are just leaving future terrorists and they want to end it. The rest of the region may still hate them but they don’t care and won’t hold back.

In the end they will get invaded by multiple middle eastern countries and WW3 Will occur.

Just keep evacuating the strip from North to South and carpet bomb the area evacuated. Turn the whole strip into an uninhabitable pile of rubble.
