RBG is a partisan hack who plays politics, so I see her holding off on retiring until EOY or beginning of next. Why? Because it will create the political trap of Trump to lure him into nominating a SCOTUS during an election year. The Dems will think they can play this card against him and the Repubs by highlighting their stance last election.

If this happens, I think it's a win-win scenerio for Trump. SCOTUS was the number one reason he won last time, so not nominating someone will be a huge boost to his chances. On the other hand he can nominate and the Senate can confirm, and we get another great justice on the court. I don't see political ramifications for this, because people will forget if they even care that much about the "election year" issue.

If you even look at her wrong a bone breaks

Why would someone want to work to that point in their life

She may already be. Would the left/deep state keep it secret?

She'll die on the job. I wouldn't be shocked if her dying wish is to be kept on life support until Trump is out of office

Seriously. I don't think she even cares what the case is anymore. She probably has some Dem adviser who tells her what to vote.

I would agree and the melt that would come forth from replacing RGB in 2020 might be the melt of all melts. It could unhinge the left so much that they go overboard and lose in November.

But those in the Senate and their handlers won't forget, and if the GOP were to seat a justice in an election year after the Garland incident, I'm tempted to think that the Dems out of anger/desperation would actually follow through on stacking the SC. If the people can forget about the GOP adding a justice in a POTUS election year, can they also not forget about Dems adding people to a judicial body that doesn't have a legislated cap? It's not like they'd be breaking the law by doing so, just recent convention.

I don't know if she'll be in court much anymore. I think it's a legit all-hands-on-deck to keep her with us for 359 more days.

Lets start a GoFundMe page for an all expense paid hunting trip to a Texas ranch with her US Marshalls left behind and may be a pillow will accidentally fall on her progressive face..........

If she lives that long. Seriously, she can't be doing all that well if she called in sick today.

She will die on the bench if she hasn't already done so. It would not surprise me if the Democrats tried to play Weekend at Ruth's. I am sure her staffers are writing and submitting her opinions.

Republicans control the Senate. Its not like the Republicans refusing to vote for Garland in 2016. Democrats can't stop it any time.

i sincerely hope the republicans get a majority in both houses and put it into law that the supreme court stays at 9 and can never be more or less then 9

the dimms are out to destroy this country and will use any means needed to do so including putting 12 new socialist justices on the supreme court in order to get their way

Obama was term-limited, and that was the big reason not to have Garland's confirmation hearing.

Trump is not a lame duck and is likely to win reelection, so...
