Won’t have electricity until 7pm due to blackout. And it’s in the teens outside

I’m not gonna say what should be done to every fricking liberal idiot that thinks shutting down fossil fuels is a good idea but it involves firing a projectile

Your fault for not having $50k worth of tesla powerbanks serving your house.

Jokes aside, renewables are not a dependable and scalable source of reliable power.

Coal fired plants, hydro, gas turbines, etc. all can be brought online and offline or spooled up to react to demand.

Is your water heater gas or electric?

If it's electric you better turn on the warm and cold water almost all the way open at every faucet and shower in your house. Your pipes will freeze pretty quickly in this weather without your home's heat assisting in keeping them warm, plus only cold water flowing through those pipes.

Open all those sink cabinets too. You dont think those water lines in the cabinet will freeze as easily as they do since they're indoors, but those flexible hot and cold water lines in your cabinets are actually the first to freeze in cold weather like this.

I just dealt with this myself. I left water dripping at all the sinks and showers, but when I washed my hands a couple hours ago in my bathroom I forgot to open the warm side a little too afterwards and only dripped cold.

That flexible hose froze in less than 2 hours, and that's WITH heat going and cabinets open.

Luckily I caught it early enough to simply thaw it with a heater pointed inside the cabinet

Should have spent 14k on an in ground generator running on gerbil power. Require less food than hamsters

I'm fine with shutting down fossil fuel plants, but we should be opening nuclear plants at the same time.

Lost power this morning. Winds. Which is strange because the winds have been much worse during storms/hurricanes. It was 70 the other day and was 44 today.

What a lot of people don't understand is that electric heating is by its very design is massively inneficient whereas natural gas heating is directly utilizing the fuel to create heat and is highly efficient

We are lucky to have natural gas if the power goes out. Of course the government thinks it’s smart to run the world on batteries.

My only gas appliance is my heater, which was intentional when we had the house built. It just heats so much better than electric and doesn't need to run nearly as often. Plus it's cheap, my gas bills are a whopping $7 in the summer and under $20 in the winter

You don't have your house hooked up to your Ford F-150 Lightning?

Why are you trying to kill all life on earth?

This. China and India can't continue to grow at their current rate, and the world have enough energy. Unless we want to invade africa and try to stabilize a nation there, it's not looking good.

What's the power generation model for your area?

What investments have been made into it to accommodate population growth and higher demand for electricity with t xhnology and business?

Most Dims who are pimping for the transition to Green energy sources are completely clueless about the base load energy requirements to power our nation's energy grid.....Green energy sources are incapable of meeting those requirements.
