Would be impressive it was the Portuguese Empire and not some 3rd rate micro-state and long time simp of of Spain.
Hey now, Portugal was part of the Iberian peninsula. They wanted to spread their wealth and wisdom to the west and that's why they landed in America and founded New Iberia.

It’s a country of only 10 million and it only happened due to the weather being stormy

Yeah, it’s all but a meaningless term in the context of power production.

Portugal is a great place to live.

Portugal is an economic shite hole, is tiny, and has the same climate across the entire country.
We already know renewables can work in certain geographic zones.

So is the Philippines. I don't think we should strive to emulate their economic output or GDP production.

That’s pretty impressive. I’d like to know what their set up was exactly.

Iceland does it all the time, doesn't mean we can. Costa Rica has a large portion of energy generated from renewables (hydro), doesn't mean we can.
Do some research, the Northeast doesn't even want hydroelectric because they don't want the new powerlines. See "Northern Pass" project. Massachusetts wanted to import hydroelectric from Quebec but New Hampshire killed the right of way. Then they tried to go through Maine and environmental groups have tied it up in courts.
This headline means absolutely nothing!

Portugal just ran on 100% renewables for six days in a row[/quote]
What do they do the rest of the month?

This reminds me of when leftists tout programs that work in Sweden but would be a disaster here in the states.
