She’s a star on the national political stage, but Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is viewed skeptically back in her Queens and Bronx 14th Congressional District, according to a new door-to-door survey.

It found that she has a low 21% favorability rating, that just 11% believe she has their best interests in mind, and that only 13% would vote to reelect her.

A previous survey by the group found that residents were upset with the lawmaker’s opposition to bringing an Amazon headquarters to the district. In part due to Ocasio-Cortez’s complaints, Amazon backed out of moving to her district.

I'm sorry, who elected a 28 year old socialist bartender and what exactly did they expect?

The survey of registered voters was conducted by the political action committee targeting her with a Federal Election Commission complaint, Stop The AOC PAC.

I don't doubt that maybe some folks were disappointed by her stance on AMZN, but those numbers (13% to reelect???), in that district, are laughable to the point of implausible.

I'll be shocked if she faces any serious opposition to reelection.

I'd give more credence to this poll if those same constituents didn't vote for her in the first place.

AOC is a mess and will be sidelined before long.

And her district will re-elect her.

Funny to read.

But, I don't buy polls any more. I'd bet a mortgage payment that she's reelected for at least one more term. Who the hell else do they have in that district?

The guy she replaced who only lost because he didn't campaign because he didn't take her seriously?

You know why this is bullshite?

Because nobody goes "door-to-door" in the Bronx and Queens.

And yet, she will win re-election with nearly 80% of the vote and probably serve another 12 terms in Congress. Or at least until someone even further left shows up to challenge her.

The district is prime to be had. You can't even get her to participate in a debate. 2 year and done.

Polls are used to shape, not measure.

AyOck has obviously ticked off the establishment DemProgFilth so they put a target on her back (she probably thinks all those pats on her back were well wishes not staples).

How about the guy she beat last time who took the race for granted. He was Princess Pelosi's heir apparent to the Dem Leadership of the House. He might even actually campaign this time.

The fricked up thing is...she'll mysteriously keep that position until she's in her 70s.

Politicians like her who are nationally popular but locally despised... somehow always get reelected. Maxine waters for example.

She is going to fundraise her arse off for the DCCC, there's no way in hell they allow someone to primary her.

She'll be there for 3-4 terms, bilk taxpayers out of a shitload of money, write a couple books, then retire gracefully at 34 to hit the lecture, speaking engagement, and cable talking head circuit.

Pretty sure she won her seat with a very small percentage of her district's voting bloc in the first place.

If I am not mistaken she won with only 13% or so of eligible voters in her district voting for her ... and that was long before she grew her war chest to where it is today. She's getting donations from wealthy donors from all over the country these days. Plus her little communist campaign machine is fairly well oiled and tuned.

She'll be tough to toss out of that district for some time to come.

Yeah, people pretending we are still operating under some sort of old-line party paradigm are missing the boat here, I'm afraid.
