It's not a requirement to get the contract but it is apparently a requirement to be allowed to bid on the contract.

So even if I have the best price, I should be excluded if I were an antisemite? How is that beneficial to the people of Arkansas and their tax dollars?

What does that have to do with how taxpayer-funded contracts are awarded in Arkansas?

Probably about the same as the language that Arkansas requires regarding the boycott of the fossil fuel industry, firearms, or ammunition industry

Though I think those are all silly requirements, all of those industries benefit Americans and people of Arkansas

You still fail to say how specifying loyalty to one specific country benefits the people of Arkansas and is in their best interest when deciding where their tax dollars are spent.

There is no pledge of allegiance. 38 States have no boycotting of Israel contracts. How is Tucker Carlson going to win in 38 States?

It is odd but it is done in 38 States. You should correct your thread title, it is inaccurate. If you want outrage or change, or agree, use the facts.
quote:

Florida law requires entities entering into or renewing contracts or grants with state agencies or local governments to certify they are not participating in a boycott of Israel. Under expanded legislation (such as SB 1678), these restrictions apply broadly to companies, nonprofits, educational institutions, and local governmental bodies.

Contract Rules and Certification Prohibition: State entities and local governments cannot enter into or renew goods-or-services contracts with anyone engaging in a discriminatory boycott of Israel or Israeli-controlled territories.Certification & Clauses: Contracts must include provisions allowing the state or local body to terminate the agreement if the vendor is placed on the scrutinized companies list or found to be boycotting Israel.Scope: Broadened to cover nonprofits, public schools, and universities alongside commercial enterprises, alongside compliance mandates for cultural and arts grants.

Enforcement and Penalties

Correction Period: Entities identified as participating in a boycott are typically given a 90-day window to clarify or cease the activity before formal divestment or contract termination triggers take full effect.

Consequences: Failure to comply or submitting a false certification can result in contract termination, financial penalties, and potential disqualification from future state contracts or grants for up to 10 years. You can read the exact legal framework and updates via the Florida Senate statutes directory or look up individual legislative records on the Florida House of Representatives platform.
quote:

As of 2026, 38 U.S. states have enacted laws, executive orders, or administrative directives designed to restrict or prohibit government contractors from boycotting Israel.

These anti-BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) policies typically require individuals or businesses to provide written certification or sign a pledge stating they are not currently boycotting Israel—or its controlled territories—as a condition for securing or maintaining a public contract.

Types of Anti-Boycott Measures

While the specifics vary by state, the legislation generally takes two main paths:Contract Procurement Bans: State agencies are prohibited from entering into agreements with contractors that participate in a boycott against Israeli goods or services.Investment Divestment Mandates: State public investment and pension funds are prohibited from investing in companies or entities that engage in BDS activities.

Common Exemptions and Legal Status

Following several high-profile First Amendment legal challenges from groups like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Palestine Legal, multiple states have amended their laws to include thresholds. In many jurisdictions, the non-boycott clause only applies if:The contracting company has 10 or more full-time employees.

The total value of the contract is $100,000 or greater. These thresholds effectively exempt sole proprietors, independent freelancers, and micro-businesses from having to sign the non-boycott certification in those specific states. You can track specific state-by-state updates on the Just Vision Anti-Boycott Legislation Tracker or the Israel Legal Advocacy Project.

Nuts

Are there any laws saying you can't be anti-Catholic or anti-Southern Baptist? Both are big in Louisiana.

While it does appear fully nuts. I think it was done at the governors pow wows of 38 States...Around the time frame that there was massive protests with free Palestine rallys and protests. it got downright summer of love ugly.

did we pass any similar laws for businesses that were openly anti-white or Christian during BLM Summer? you know, the time where there was actual political violence and destruction of property?

How so? Please explain, where the above, explicitly states that loyalty to a foreign country is a requirement to get a state contract. Use your words.

The part where it says a public entity shall not enter into a contract with a company unless the contract includes a written certification that the person or company is not currently engaged in a boycott of Israel.

Now explain to me how the term boycott is defined by Arkansas law. Surely it’s not vaguely written allowing for broad interpretation at the discretion of the state and they would never engage in abuse or corruption.

I've never understood the point of all of this.

Nobody:
Zionists: "You have to promise not to boycott Israel."

Huh?

You live to like Fuentes and hate Israel. Knock yourself out and change it... or move to one of these States, or Qatar with Tucker.
