He told reporters on Monday that Pirro “choked” and “folded like an umbrella” and claimed that she’s been facing a hostile judge, even though no judge had taken any substantive action in the case. Trump is just trying to save face after accusing people of vandalism as the main cause of the damage.
I think it's probably a little of column a) and b.)
It's likely that the installation was rushed and that led to a failure of the product to adhere.
It's also likely that people were messing with it and exaggerated the already existing problem.
I appreciate Trump's efforts to improve the D.C. monuments, but this is such a non-issue in the scheme of things.

If your get a new paint job and it starts bubbling up and you peel off some it, was it your fault or the installation?
Engineers that evaluated the job cited that it was applied wrong. It was bubbling up and peeling in other areas.
If that case went to trial, the guy would get off. This is such a silly thing to get upset about.

Yeah he can fire her, but that doesn’t achieve a conviction for vandalism when there is no supporting evidence.
She’s not jumping on another grenade just because Trump is deranged enough to believe it himself…

Same could be said of Pence or Bolton. He makes picks based on his gut reaction.
Trump is a narcissist and thinks he's infallible. That's why he defended, "Warp Speed" so much - even though the vaccine was hugely unpopular with the public. He will never admit he made a mistake. That's not a good trait to have in a leader. Being able to recognize mistakes and honestly address them is someone I'd rather follow than someone that can't accept fault.

Trump is all we got and I sure as heck ain't going to the tuckertard darkside or agreeing with democrats ever.
But Trump says stupid shite and it is okay to call it out. This is one of those times.
