Terrible to compare a presidential election to a special election before the mid-terms
Disagree. Trump and Biden both just visited this small district to drum up votes.
In general, yes, totally agree with you. But this special election for a House seat, with tens of millions of dollars pouring in and POTUS making a visit, is far from a typical special election.
+20 for Trump in 2016, this district should've been a slam dunk for GOP tonight.

Murphy resigned in disgrace. Staunch pro life stance and tries to get girlfriend to have an abortion.

I want it to... but I really don't think it will produce enough. If my LSU math is correct, I think Lamb holds by 150 votes. I hope I am wrong.

Another loss to the GOP. Midterms will be a blood bath. And Trump gave us no meaningful illegal alien reform.
This would be the 1st special Election congressional loss for the GOP since Trump took office FWIW. The score is GOP 5 and if Lamb wins, Dems 1 in congressional races.

I spoke to a bunch of House Rs at the vote tonight abt what it means for their majority in the mid-terms if they lose tonight. A lot of them were pretty dismissive. Call it denial, call it spin, but Rs are def gonna try to downplay this race tomorrow, per my sourcing.

CNN: Estimates the two outstanding county will boost Saccone by 200 votes. Extrapolating 2600 uncounted absentee ballots, Saccone needs 63% of the absentees to win.

Seems that would favor Soccone?

1) This special election is following the sitting house member of the district resigning in disgrace from a sex/paid abortion scandal. Research shows that in elections following a scandal/resignation in congressional races, the party challenging the seat does a bit better.
2) Conor lamb is not your average dem...he is conservative on social issues and played a perfect campaign in a historically democratic but conservative area of PA.
3) The republican candidate is tied to corruption from the previous governor, and he is objectively a terrible campaigner.

Democrats almost always mysteriously win the close ones, especially in bluish states

Sacconne may win narrowly with Repub counties absentee votes. Gonna be within 250 votes either way.
Conor Lamb favors strong background checks, raising the age to 21, and banning some assault weapons. Although he does not like abortion, he votes pro-choice in the first trimester (Roe V Wade). He is a moderate Democrat. He is not a conservative on most issues. He didn't campaign against Trump and he said he would have voted FOR the tax cut. He also said the tax cut was too high for corporations (he favored 25% not 21%) and households whose income is higher than $400K (he favored no cut at all for these people).

If there are truly 3100 absentee ballots left to be counted for Westmoreland, Greene, and Washington counties then Lamb just like Toddy is a loser

Disagree.
For example, 1)which party usually gets out to vote in a mid-term? 2)Is it typically consistent with Presidential elections?
Pssst! The answers are:
1) The opposite party of the sitting president
2) Always heavily skewed to the opposition party to the President (94, 98, 06, 10, 14)

I believe one of the last ones you are thinking of is Greg “The Body Slam” Gianforte’s win in Montana.

That is exactly the plan the Democrats are pimping for 2018. He is full democrat on Taxes.

I mean how are you supposed to respond to that question? “We better start fighting for open borders, more welfare, more taxes and some form of skin color genitalia rights or we will lose the 2018 midterms”?
If the Dems win the midterms it will be because they run more conservative candidates than the national party platform like Lamb tonight.
