Even non-political junkie's aren't stupid enough to get worked up about this or the terrorist thing.
When working class people are worried about paying for gas to go to work or eating.
I have a friend that works in local govt and it is being said that illegals are getting food stamps. $3600 with children stimulus and $360 for childrens lunches.
The system is set up so that if/when the average working class guy needs temporary help he isn't poor enough.
While illegals are breaking the system and taking so much money. They are building FREE apt. communities for them. They will be permanent welfare recips eliminating the temp services available to Americans.
Anyhoo, there isn't anything Biden & Pelosi can do to delete this reality.

The two positions are not inconsistent.
The US position is that we oppose unilateral action by either side, including both a PRC invasion of Taiwan AND any unilateral declaration of independence by Taiwan. That we would use military action to defend Taiwan against the PRC in the event of an invasion does not mean that we support a declaration of independence by Taiwan.

I agree. The media hype around this seems way ahead of the reality. I dont know if this is another distraction by the Biden admin or what, but it has never seemed like a big risk.

Why would Taiwan eagerly and optimistically welcome Pelosi? Well, I believe that Occam’s Razor is the correct approach in this situation, as I often believe in most situations. Taiwan has been watching how feckless the President and Commander in Chief of the United States has unbelievably embarrassed and defanged the U.S. in the eyes of the rest of the world, and consequently they were I’m sure getting quite nervous that the U.S. was quietly slipping out the back door and cold blooded abandon them. Not that it much matters because with Biden making military decisions such as those that would occur in the case of a Chinese aggression against the Taiwanese dudes and dudettes over there, they probably ain’t real confident about their chances with an American force of trannys with their peckers taped between their arse cheeks doing work on the Chinese invaders.
So this event absolutely does give them a bit more confidence fhat perhaps there are parties other than Biden who will got to bat for them. I believe it’s primarily that easy. Sure, with some side action with some folks involved, i.e. Pelosi loving the boost to her image and legacy, maybe, that kind of side benefit.
Think about it, suddenly going from the everyday lives currently experienced in Taiwan versus a new way of life under tight and paranoid Chinese control - that would suck huge nads for those people. Like, perhaps suicide might be a viable alternative in some of those minds. Hell, Chinese authorities think your brother or husband is a covert agitator or spy for good reason at all? Too bad, they bust in and grab you up in the middle of the night, never to be seen by the family again.

I almost think this is a setup for the American public to accept a bill or slush fund to beef up troops, military equipment, and a military budget in the Pacific.
