With the mounting evidence of a red wave, why would she want to be there? I mean she can win but I just can't see why she wants to hand the gavel over.

I kind of see it differently. To me, if she was confident they’d keep majority, she’d name an heir apparent and ride off into the sunset while campaigning nationwide for other D’s.
I think she senses vulnerability for the Dems, and sees her stranglehold on power as the only way to direct the party to victory. They’ll splinter into factions without her.

I know some states have a mandatory retirement age for judges. They need to do that with politicians as well. Being over 80 is ridiculous, besides didn’t she just buy a house in Florida?
