You aren't doing a very good job on the "everyone's rights" part. What about every Americans' right to not walk around with a bullseye on their neck?

You guys want to destroy a principle the country was founded on because you're a bunch of scared chicken littles who are too dumb to realize you are doing exactly what you accuse them of.

Gun toting Texans are trembling in fear over too many mosques in the DFW area. You think the 2nd amendment would save us from a tyrannical government? I think we have proof that it would only help enforce such a thing.
Yes for sure.
Such things are fought by a small % of the population historically.
The thing that won't save us from a tyrannical government is people in this thread who gladly give away their freedoms because they are filled with fear.
And they'll turn around and call other people cucks, pussies and what not while cowering in fear asking for anyone to come and save them.
Pathetic bunch if you ask me. I can't imagine living in such fear.

The Constitution doesn’t say what a religion is
It is unlikely this would work in that it would almost be impossible to make a convincing argument that Islam isn't a religion. Now you could argue that there is something else (yet unnamed AFAIK, besides maybe radical Islamist) that you could define outside of religion and get it recognized as a non-religious movement like, say, communism.
quote:
Some states have banned communism. Islam is next.
AFAIK the only banning of communism on the books of any state prevents public office and working for the government. These are all from the 50s and 60s. I assume that is what you mean when you say ban. The problem is while they are still on the books in some states (I think AL may be one) they were all held unconstitutional in a string of cases from the 60s. Nostrand and Robel are two that come to mind.
The only constitutional way to handle this is just like birthright citizenship, which is at the border. As the law stands today, once they are in the country, they have constitutional rights. You could probably change state laws/constitutions to limit governmental positions to natural-born citizens but that doesn't impact second-generation, and it cuts both ways for people like Arnold.

To the Framers, the only Religions were the various forms of Christianity.

If you want to start banning religions because they are bullshite and what not, I'd put yours in the list too. Not all of Christianity, just your version.

So because the constitution doesn't come with a dictionary, we get to pretend they mean whatever we as a way of bypassing the constitution to take away the rights of people? And you don't see or have a problem with that? Why do you hate freedom? Is it because you are worried how other people may choose to use theirs? You'll give yours up just so they can't have it? I want no part of it.
Islam is absolutely a political movement and it’s historically illiterate of people to pretend otherwise.
In the west where Christianity is the cornerstone of society we like to think of religion as an “invitation” because Christianity is a religion of invitation. That is a hallmark of Christianity that ignorant Americans think applies to all religions because they don’t understand how the world works.
Islam is a religion of imposition. Look at every Islamic country. Every single one of them were once Christian nations. How many of them have Christians today? How many are allowed to freely worship?
Islam preys on the weakness of people like this poster who will gladly allow hostile political movements to hide behind a religion in order to take over the country then completely repeal the constitution he allegedly cares about. It’s a suicide pact. But hey when our grandkids have to deal with massive Muslim majority areas all over the country who don’t give a damn about the constitution or America at all, at least you were true to your principles!
“I may not agree with sharia law, but I’ll die for your right to impose it on my grandchildren”

The argument is why didn't they use the word Christianity? They were certainly aware of Charlemagne and forcing Christianity on people of the pagan religions, you know, baptism or death. They knew of the Byzantine and late Roman periods when they outlawed non-Christian worship. There is no way they were unaware of Islam at the time. Given this, why didn't they just say Christianity?
Without a change in the Constitution, we have to handle this at the border and have to avoid religion as the basis, most likely.
We have two existential crises in birthright citizenship and Muslims pushing Islamic culture/laws. The problem is the Constitution doesn't help us with either, it does quit the opposite.

As a constitutionalist, I 100% disagree with the direction that you're coming from.
An an American, I am 100% in support that they are a threat that needs to be dealt with.
The constitution does not define what an "arm" is. But guarantees us the right to them. Gun controllers have tried the tactic that you're talking about, and it's unconstitutional.
The govt simply cannot deprive a right, due to the potential harm said right can cause.
Now, what the govt DOES have the right to do, is declare a threat to the people that it governs. It is the DUTY of a government to protect those under it's governing body.
Remove the religious aspect. Declare them a threat. Declare them a terrorist organization. There's more than enough proof of it to do so.

Didn’t have to.
It was super obvious to them.
Just like 20 years ago it was obvious what ‘man’ and ‘woman’ meant.

If I announced tomorrow that I had a vision from some made up god or prophet, started a religion, and said the god or prophet told me that murder of non believers, oppression of women, and pedophilia were ok should I be able to freely spread that religion and commit those acts without consequences? You know, because 1st amendment and all

I think they’re more likely to ban anti Israel thoughts which would cover Islam
Posted on 8/15/26 at 6:54 am to The Boat
The only way to remove Muslims from the country will be by force. We should never have let them come here the last 45 years or so. Problem is too many Americans are fat lazy and obese to do anything about it.

Go ahead and ignore that this country was founded on separation of church and state and that their church is their state

Trump is obese but no it’s not his fault we’ve been invaded by Muslims since the 1970’s.
