You'll get the usual responses.

But the actions this Administration has taken this year will frick us all massively in November.

And it really is a shame because we could be cruising in the fast lane right now, the economy firing on all cylinders.

Instead, we're back in a stupid, unwinnable, forever war in the Middle East. Again.

The only hope is the damage will be limited because the Democrats are fricking insane and choosing some psychotic candidates.

Maybe you should just cut back on your spending as being a DSA proponent you really should get use to having less. That includes owning nothing and being happier

They will just claim 'fraud' 'rigged' 'cheating' etc. they won't look inwardly at what actually caused this.

Amazing we haven't learned a thing since the 1980's regarding this. We try the same things over and over that clearly do not work.

Younger people seem to like the woke blue haired commie libs that are being trotted out and it doesn't help that Trump keeps handpicking awful candidates especially in Senate races in places like Georgia where he keeps losing over and over. The fact we can't get rid of two weak soy commie libs like Warnock and Ossoff is a direct correlation to the bozo's Trump keeps handpicking here to go against them. But, it will be 'fraud' 'rigged' 'cheating' when those Republicans lose.

Well, that’s it. Looks like I’m voting for Gavin in 2028. Look at what he did for the California gas prices! Oh wait…

nobody is saying go vote democrat. but it’s completely fair to criticize this administration for causing prices to go back up.

stop deflecting.

I think there should be a pinned ‘gasoline prices’ thread. (Probably a pinned Tucker/Massie/ect thread also)

This is a great post, MMauler.

People seem to think that the POTUS controls the economy and/or gas prices. He doesn’t. There’s no single switch or even simply a few control knobs.

Having said that, there are policy decisions made by the President and by Congress that have a huge influence on prices.

Biden actually desired higher gas prices both as a result of fuel policy and as a driver of “alternative fuel” implementation. It wasn’t until well into his term and he was facing reelection that he hypocritically switched to wanting lower prices and dumped reserves into the market for nakedly political reasons.

Trump absolutely wants lower gas prices and has tried to keep them as low as possible while also conducting a war in Iran.

He’s not the first president and won’t be the last who has a foreign policy that is in conflict with his domestic agenda.

Remember that oil and gas futures (which sets the price at the pump) is a market commodity, which makes it potentially volatile and also easily manipulated. It is the strategy of Iran and all enemies, foreign and domestic (Democrats), to intentionally manipulate oil prices to gin up opposition to the administration.

We all want cheap gas, but there are other priorities which cause the price to go up, and ending the threat posed by Iran to the west is important.

Trump is betting that now is the time to address this problem in a more significant way and is racing against the election clock to get it done and still be able to accomplish more in bis final two years if the R’s can hold into the senate and house.

$4.29 for premium at Costco.

So you think gasoline should be cheap for your entire adult life? Just deal with disappointment and persevere. Or latch on to a politician whom you think will make it all better.

Are you SERIOUSLY coming here to btch about gas prices and you are buying premium gas?

I run premium in my ecoboost F150 because I have always ran premium in turbocharged vehicles I have had. Do I have to? Nope. But if I was flailing around and crying about affordability.. I'd be shooting 87 in it for sure.

He woke up miserable and decided to run to a message board to complain. The best part is he went to costco where it’s likely the cheapest in his area. Also Costcos are only in large cities. Wonder what state he’s in and how much their gas tax is.
