How about if we enforce the current laws instead of letting felons go free?

My right to bear arms shall not be infringed.
Having to unlock something in order to bear is an infringement!!

The Louisiana State Sen. who had this genius thought is Gary Carter Jr. from Algiers

What the frick does this solve?
If they manage to pass it it makes it an inconvenience for their citizens... If more states pass something like this then it will drive up the price of ammo for everyone across the country...
I don't imagine PA sells enough ammo annually for many ammo manufacturers to comply...

I'll bet you have no problem attacking the lack of personal responsibility of progressives. Neither do I. But you don't feel a personal responsibilty to lock your own vehicle when there's a firearm in it?

That isn’t the gotcha you think it is.

The only way to see this is as a direct attack on poor minority gun owners.

1) guns can be stolen from locked cars as well
2) how can they tell if the car was locked/unlocked?
Is it possible to break into a locked car without evidence of tampering (aside from a broken window)? Truly don't know.
Again, this is about putting the onus on law abiding citizens and completely absolving the criminal element that they have zero interest in prosecuting.
We have DA's pledging not to throw criminals in jail (mostly based on skin color) for crimes involving guns (mostly stolen ones).
This is the anarco-tyrannical state that they're pushing for.

That's like saying if you leave your house unlocked and someone comes steal a kitchen knife and later uses it to stab someone, you're liable.
Don't tempt the House of Commons. They already basically tried to ban knives over there.

So therefore I again ask, how can it be proven that the gunowner hadn't locked their car?? (Not asking you for an answer .. just saying this is dumb)
Jury decides if the car was locked or not. And that is just a technicality because after most states inact this then the next step is to removed the "loop hole" of locked from the law.
Inch by inch

I do.
You think someone should go to jail for having something stolen from them?

quote:How the hell can this be accomplished? Serial numbers on the inside of a shell casing? Laser engraving I presume.
Base of bullet and inside of casing has to be serialized. The box has to be marked with the matching serial number.
This is going to raise the price of ammo through the roof. What about hunting ammo?
All this will do is make ammo without serial numbers a huge black market item for thugs. They’ll either buy black market non-serial number ammo or go out of state to buy it legally.
Ain’t nobody gonna buy serialized ammo.

Do you think that women shouldn't dress slutty because they may be sexually assaulted?
People do dumb shite all the time. That doesn't mean that they should be victims of a crime.

If your car is stolen, and the car thief runs over a kid and kills them. Is it your fault?

This was going to be my next question. Where does it end?

So what ur saying is, if someone steals a gun from my unlocked car, I just need to break the window before I call the cops?

Posted on 5/9/23 at 12:48 pm to nes2010
How about not forcing people to unarm themselves into walking into establishments in this state?
Can’t get the gun stolen out of the car if you stop forcing people to leave it in the fricking car.
