IMO Russia is in the "We need to work with them and maintain a relationship category."
However, Putin is not someone who is an outsider of the 80s Cold War. His view of the U.S. will always have ties to that era.

Maybe you’re right and that loudmouth-breathing vocal minority among us was wrong. Y’all can sort that out. But it was a rather confident position that crew crowed about earlier on.

This is Trump giving the middle finger to Ukraine for continuing to blow up Russian refineries after he told them to stop… so ok now we are going to fund your enemy directly

If a diesel deal with putin, what did putin get out of it? Trump didn't mention that.

That might be an assumption made and fostered during times other than those wherein Russia isn’t itself stretched thin due to a resource-heavy war that has no apparent end in sight, but practically speaking, to what end and extent can Russia actually “help” Iran at the current time?

And shuttering all of their nuclear power plants and trying to go all "green" power. Now they are rushing to bring some old coal fired units back online if memory serves correctly.

The US has the refining capabilities … we simply need to reactivate them. Why isn’t governor Pritzker efforting to get the Illinois Exxon facility back online?

I remember when Joe Biden’s clueless Energy Secretary, Jennifer Granholm, suggested this in a meeting with industry leaders in order to “temporarily lower gasoline prices”. They all laughed at her, as did many on the right. And rightfully so. You can’t just snap your fingers and restart decommissioned refineries.

Nice assumption on your part…. but the Exxon facility I referenced was the largest producer of diesel in the US until 30 days ago …. this wasn’t some mothballed, “decommissioned” facility

European "leaders" are trying to start the next world war using Ukraine as a proxy and crippling their own nations with insane energy regulatory suicide.

If they can't buy from Russia, can they buy via the US from Russia??

With only this post as a source:
And just like that high gas prices become unimportant to the left.

However, I despise Russian leaders as much as Ukranian. Supporting either with cash is unconscionable.
