Obama’s influence on off year elections is decidedly pro-GOP. His lectures strike a nerve with GOP base. An Obama lecture tour will result in a higher turn out amount Republicans.

You're not quite up with the message. It's a bifurcation.

Some things in the economy are very good (like low unemployment). That's due to Obama.
But some things in the economy are very bad (like income inequality). That's due to Trump.

Trends? So the .1% gdp growth is the same trend as the explosive growth we see now. The meteoric rise of jobs especially in the manufacturing sector remain on the same “trend” as seen under Obama?

You can’t be serious with this continuation BS.

I , for one can’t believe my own ears. We watched him blame Bush for everything for 8 years, 8 years. That the manufacturing would never come back, that this is the new normal. And then poof, Trump gets elected and we are seeing numbers in the economy that surged overnight, and still he has some believers, just incredible...

Manufacturing not so much. GDP yes. Employment and stocks no.

Obvious observation is obvious.

Are there any economic trends that arent continuations from Obamas tenure? Unemployment and the stock market are following existing trends. Im sure others exist but it would be interesting to see.

I don't think the stock market is as consistent as it was under President Obama. It was more of a slow steady rise under the former President. It's much more volatile under President Trump. Also, everyone likes to focus on the debt and overlook the budget deficit, but Obama kept the budget deficit fairly flat during a recessionary period while President Trump is massively increasing the deficit. Due to Obama, we were set to slow the increase in the GOP debt, but Trump didn't do that, he's adding to it. We are now growing the economy with borrowed money.

Did you sleep through all of 2017? The “volatility” that you’re seeing now is the market trying to catch up with itself from the huge rally that happened last year. This was the same time that the market was “supposed to crash barring a Trump victory.”

And now, Obama and his disciples are trying to take credit for it.

Because Trump is ripping up trade deals and imposing tarriffs to force countries to revisit their tariffs on our goods.

The markets are nervous about those actions but also see results - jobs and companies coming back, etc.

Once Trump is done, that’s when he’s gonna blow the lid off this economy.

I agree...but in this case it’s a good thing.

Trump and the patriots that voted for him will never go away.

They can impeach all they want. It will be the worst thing the establishment ever did.
