I don’t think another Ex-President has ever made such a decisive speech so soon after leaving office.

Time will tell - I don't see it - I suspect he will retreat to his business and live out the remainder of his life enjoying whatever of his wealth remains.
Most politicians get into it to get rich - he got into it to help rescue America from certain destruction, at great expense to his personal fortune. I know of no one since the founders who have sacrificed so much personal wealth and status to serve as POTUS. Certainly not since Truman/Eisenhower.

Are there any economic trends that arent continuations from Obamas tenure? Unemployment and the stock market are following existing trends. Im sure others exist but it would be interesting to see.

Doubt it strongly. By the time Trump leaves office in 2025 he will be 78 and after 8 years of President Pence he will be 86 probably pretty mellow by then.
