I’ve been approved for my renewal and gotten the email link to send them cash, but screw them. When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.

The idea that open carry is safer than concealed carry is and always has been a stupid lie.

In some situations it is better to open carry.

Safer? Depends on what you mean by safer and who's safety you're talking about.

Can open carry make you a priority target? In some situations yes. That can be mitigated by situational awareness in most cases.

The idea the open carry always makes you less safe is also false.

The idea that open carry more time than not provokes violence is also false.

So you agree that in some situations open carry is less safe!

I don't necessarily agree with your statement as written. Your comment was absolute and you fail to consider the numerous variables so it's really a moot point.

Why not just conceal without a permit, its a misdemeanor.

This is where I'm at. There is no serious criminal consequence for concealed carrying without a permit. If you're responsible about it and have a good holster, the only time anyone will know you are carrying is if you need the gun. At that point who cares if you were illegally carrying?

My only worry is that I have carry insurance. You are taking about being caught by law enforcement and that's fine. But if I am carrying illegally and have to use my firearm in self defense and that interaction ended up with the perp taking the room temperature challenge, then my insurance is under no obligation to go to trial on my behalf. Actually they wouldn't.

I'm not sure you can obtain carry insurance through places like USCCA without having a CCW. Seems I had to provide it to become a member back when they were getting started.

I'm not sure that's true. Granted I'm no expert in carry insurance but it's seems to me that insurance would not cover the use of an illegal firearm in self-defense. In this hypothetical case, the firearm is still legal but the method of concealment is not.

I am just an ole country boy. I have had several friends who open carried daily back over the years 1 told me several times someone came up behind them and tried to draw their gun. Another got in a shouting argument with a coworker and got so P.Oed he drew and shot him in a fit of anger. His friend did not press charges as it was just a flesh shot and it haunted my friend the rest of his life. I have always been scared to open carry cause of those and several other stories I could tell.

Maybe we should all open carry like it's the wild fricking west. Evidently, that's what the douchbag politicians and sheriffs in this state want.

It is also their right to use force against someone attempting to disarm them and their right to become a felon by shooting his buddy thus the law works.

I think your full of crap on both stories. You don't get to drop charges on a use of deadly force by discharging a firearm, especially at a workplace. And carrying at a workplace? You said coworker so in assuming at work or you would have called them friends.

Damn few.

If you need to shoot someone to save your life or the life of others, worrying about the legal ramifications should be the least of your concerns.
