Why not just conceal without a permit, its a misdemeanor. How many times have you been patted down by an officer? I know several people who do everyday.

I do all the time. No man can tell me how I can exercise my God and country given right.

I totally agree. It was just a thought I wanted to share for those that have gone that extra bit to take on the legal fight after the fight for your life. I was unaware that other carry insurance companies other than CCWSAFE didn't offer legal defense for open carry. So that particular comment didn't apply to most.

This is true. But there are citizens who absolutely will not go against written law no matter how unconstitutional. The idea of the open carry protest was to show people that might not know that they have that option. Its more for notice to everyday people that don't carry at all or can't get the requirements to conceal carry.

At that point who cares if you were illegally carrying?

The lawyer representing the family of the criminal. It would be a monumental dummy move to do everything right and save your own or others lives and go to jail because “I shouldn’t have to take no class” or “CCW courses are just money schemes for police”

Just take the course and be legal. Is that so hard?

Or don’t but I’d be careful about assuming it’s just going to be a slap on the wrist if you are caught concealing a firearm without a valid permit.

No reason why you can't carry both a sword and a concealed handgun though.

Guy in front of me in line at Albertson's the other day had a pistol in the pocket of his sweat pants shorts with the grip hanging out. He kept holding it to keep it from flopping around while he was moving. The only thing I could think about was that he was about to Plaxico Burress himself or me.
