I am still leaning toward Trump simply because his first term was so successful despite not achieving all of his goals but there's a lot to consider like can either one win the general and fight the cheating that will happen.

If Trump wins the odds of a Republican president in 2028 are close to nil.

Just make up a narrative and see what sticks.

Too much pride coming from a trump only fan. Just wow.

DeSantis is in his 40s. He can serve 8 years literally any time in the next 35.

I fear when he loses the nom all of his supporters will brand him a "loser" and never vote for him again. They seem to do that.

Power of prayer. I believe it could happen.

We have been trying to tell y’all this.

Glad you are finally seeing it.

If Trump runs AND wins (I will absolutely vote for him) there is no way a Republican wins after him.

The “12 years” is an absolute fantasy

Trump only having one term is a plus. He does not have to worry about re-election and can push the envelope against the deep state. He had to be careful in his first term, not only with what he said, but with who he hired and who he allied himself with in the Republican party.

A second Trump term could be an epic battle between Trump and the establishment, and I believe he will be more successful because the American public is more aware that the media and our government are not truthful.

If Trump is elected, he’s a lame duck from day one. Unless he has a lot of supporters in Congress, he may have a very hard time getting anything done. He will also, have to fight numerous prosecutions unless they can be delayed until he leaves office.

That's not why we need Trump. Ron will be very good at defending traditional conservative issues and slowing down the slide into socialism. If that is what you want.

Trump's job as President will be to try and root out the corrupt uniparty which is slowly dragging us towards an authoritarian, centralized government where there are no good guys and bad guys - just bad guys. We have seen the tip of the iceberg and we need to expose what's below the surface.

We're headed to a country where the government is controlling our life from cradle to grave and we can't do a damn thing about it because every candidate for any office with power will be vetted to make sure the candidate knows who butters his/her bread.

You could just as easily say they had to be careful with him. There’s a reason they’re called lame ducks.

Trump didn't get this done 2016-2020.

Ron has said he would do this and he has a better track record of getting things done.

A pretty simple choice.

I'm still holding out hope for this, but he was on Eric Boling yesterday and when asked if he'd take a VP slot, it looks like there is a whooooole lot of bridge burning about to go down.

Ron running this year was the absolute worst thing to happen to the Republican Party in 2024 and likely extending into 2028. The Trump faction of the GOP is here forever and ever. This wasn't a one trick pony. It isn't going away no matter WHAT happens. I'm sure the Ron! people are aware of that but sometimes, I think just losing is the GOP's natural preferred position.

If that’s true, the blame for that lies with Trump and his supporters for believing Trump is essentially god and anyone who dares to challenge him is the devil.

How anyone could give such god-like deference to a loser is beyond me.

If you accept the reason that he’s running, which is that he doesn’t think Trump can win a general, then being his VP makes zero sense. Even if he was wrong and Trump won, a Republican being elected after 4 years of Trump is a long shot at best. For his VP it would be impossible.
