One political text message I can’t disagree with. re: Steve Scalise

I usually loathe unsolicited political calls and text messages. However I received one today that I can’t argue with:
Drain the swamp?

quote:
Steve Scalise has represented us for 30 years, and Louisiana is still ranked LAST among all 50 states. Ask yourself: What has Scalise actually done to improve your quality of life?
There are 2 other Republicans, an Independent and a Democrat on the ballot. If you want different results, vote anyone but Scalise. Louisiana deserves better. Election day: Nov 5th.
Drain the swamp?

He is part of the failed system. He's part of the US national debt, US involvement in worldwide conflicts, lobbyists and the never ending quest for re-election....
And like every other elected official, he'll leave politics and make a fortune in lobbying or industry.

How much does a congressman influence state laws and policies??

I did not vote for Scalise. Voted for the other Republican candidate

I voted other republican as well, but the problem is more with our governors and legislature. They are 90% fake conservatives, more like 70s democrats.

I didn’t vote for Scalise; I picked one of the other Republicans, and for that very reason; he’s a swamp creature now.

It’s non-sensical. He’s going to win by probably 60+ points anyway, such that any discussion like this is completely pointless regardless.

I don’t disagree with the first part of this statement. But, the defeatist mentality in the second part of this statement is what keeps us dead last. These discussions need to be had, if anything is going to change. Ripple effect. (Hopefully)

He’s loyal to Trump. I’m voting for him.

Hopefully no one is voting for Ross Shales. There is nothing Republican, MAGA, or anything else on our side of the aisle about him.
Term limits for the Supreme Court, climate change, pro immigration, 2nd amendment restrictions, 21 week abortion ban with tons of exceptions, etc
He also spends a lot of time talking about Project 2025:
"There cannot be enough ways to count how bad the 2025 Presidential Transition Project (If Donald Trump is re-elected) or Project 2025 will be for our country.
Every serious person in this country should be researching this initiative.
I abjectly reject the 2025 Presidential Transition Project and believe many people on a winning Donald Trump administration would be trying to enact it. Further, I would question Congressman Scalise concerning his stance on Project 2025."
I encourage you to not take my word for it, read it from his own website
I'm not a Scalise fan by any means but I'm also not gonna vote for someone who is the antithesis of what I believe.
Randall Arrington (the 3rd Republican on the ballot) makes some interesting points but to my knowledge he's never had to prove anything about his beliefs. (Though I would say, protest votes against Scalise would be better here.)
Overall, unfortunately, I'm gonna vote Scalise until we get some better options.

Steve Scalise hasn’t been in the LA Legislature for what…15-20 years now?
How are many of those rankings relevant to what he’s done in Congress? Is it his fault Louisiana went through eight years of John Bel Edwards as Governor? Is Cantrell and Broome being in charge of the two largest cities his doing?

And he’s loyal to Ukraine. Scalise is a swamp rat.

An ally of Trump and took a bullet for his views.

What's the deal with this independent? Interesting website, for sure.
