All day I prepared for the worst, conditioning myself for what seemed like the inevitable disappointment.

That night I refused to turn on the TV. Read news updates on here, Drudge, and The_Donald.

Then it began to turn. I was afraid to jinx it. Like a nervous baseball fan, I would not turn on the TV. Not until 1 AM and it seemed done did budge.

And the melt was glorious. Podesta with his forced speech at 2 AM. The speechless media. It was great. A moment for the ages.

I bounced around all day going from one precinct to another as a poll Watcher for the R's. Not sure why they moved us around except maybe to keep anyone from getting too chummy with any of the election officials and keep them on their toes. I read this site all through the day and it was great to read the positive vibes because every network and Sirius XM political channel just was all Hillary, our first female president. It wasn't until almost 8:30 before I could get home, see the kids off to bed and settle in. By that time, cautious optimism was creeping in and notable doubt was starting to prevail on the networks regarding Hill's chances.

This site, as always, was incredible and buoyed my spirit the entire day then was filled with all kinds of awesome goodness beginning around 10:00 when reality started setting in.

I'm still jubilant and euphoric and what I'm seeing in the transformation and markets warms my heart and makes the continued tears and melts of liberals all the more sweeter. Every day is like Christmas morning with a new present, gift-wrapped by some SJW, Liberal pundit or by God Emperor Trump himself! I just feel like hugging everyone!

Had the stomach flu and was spewing all day. I recovered just in time to watch election results come in and laugh as Wolf kept trying to find votes for Hillary.

My wife and I went to vote when she got off work, went to eat and after we got home the first polls would be closing soon so I settled down to watch FBN and cruise this forum to keep up with everything else. One thing this board is great at is finding the best melts to go sample.

I expected Trump to lose simply because too much was arrayed against him. Boy was I wrong and glad of it.

I had my first clue there was a chance when he kept staying ahead in Virginia after results started coming in. I switched to CNN as their coverage was great. I could see she'd win Virginia in the end, but if it was that close there was a real shot to pull it off.

When the rust belt results started coming in I saw the glee change to horror in their eyes when they realized not only could she lose, she was going to.

The tears when they had to finally call it for Trump were worth the wait. Woke my wife up and told her.

Really good idea there.

I never thought that Trump had a chance. The whole world was against him and I didn't think that anybody could beat that.

Never, never did I think, write or say he could win. It's better that he did win. Hillary has some kind of mental illness or personality disorder. She is in no way a leader or manager. She's a petty, vicious, soulless thief and liar whose psychological make-up makes her unfit to be the lowest ranking leader in any military service.

HRC is what we in the military call a "toxic leader", which is a misnomer: "toxic non-leader" would be a better way to put it. Hillary as a platoon sgt in combat would end up in a firefight with her own platoon as they tried to kill each other.

I was bursting with patriotism on Election Day, but I was also sorta worried that crooked had already cheated her way to it. After all the smear campaigns and having every bit of media coverage on her side I thought there was a slim chance we could MAGA--but we pulled through

It's been one month and I'm still not tired of winning. These next 4, hopefully 8, years will be magnificent

I gave it 55/45 Trump based on the Rust Belt strategy. Thought he might have lost Florida for about an hour at one point when he was asking people on the panhandle to go vote, but other than that I thought Trump was likely to win once Comey opened up the investigation again.

The polls never made any sense to me. I knew that many Trump voters would lie to the pollsters because they were afraid of being seemingly openly racist. Michigan I thought for sure he'd win, same with Ohio and Florida. NC I gave him a 60% chance. My eyes throughout the night were solely focused on Pennsylvania. I knew that was the state that would decide the election. Would the eastern part of the state be enough to carry it, or would the center and west go against it. Well we all saw what happened.

And as far as the venue is concerned: went to a watch party at a local music hall. Few hundred in attendence, mostly Hillary supporters. All were celebrating early on but got quiet quickly. I was pretty damn focused the whole time. Got wasted.

I was in a state of unexpectedness all day. As I saw Hillary up early in the swing states after 7, I went up stairs and played guitar. I came back down after 30 mins to an hour and saw he was leading in Florida and NC, so I went back upstairs and continued to play guitar for another 2 hours.

I was so scared that if I quit playing Trump would end up losing, since my guitar playing started his momentum! I then stayed up past the speech.

You could say I'm a little superstitious.

I started watching the returns around 7:30 PM by surfing several channels, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, FOX Business Channel.

The Hillary channels were giddy and the only Trump channel (FOX Business) was in mourning.

My wife was so disappointed she went to bed early. I stayed up.

Around 10 PM I woke my wife up and said to her, "You're not going to believe this."

When I told her Trump might win, as one swing state after another kept getting called for him, she stayed awake with me until after Trump had been called the winner, with only the Hillary camp refusing to admit it, sending Podesta out to give the non-concession talk to her supporters.

Good times.....

Days leading up to the election, I was cautiously optimistic when I saw Trump campaigning in states which made up the "blue wall" and doing more rallies in front of sellout crowds than Hillary at a faster rate. Add the fact that Obama and Hillary were in those same states playing "defense." She even had to have mainstream pop stars to hold concerts for her just to attract a crowd. Meanwhile, Trump put on a last minute rally in Michigan at midnight; and the place was sold out. That's when I knew that the enthusiasm gap was wider than what the media portrayed.

On Election Day, my wife and I woke up early and voted to MAGA before heading to work. I literally got no work done that day. I just kept refreshing Political Talk and got updates on the Florida voting thread (Thank you, SirWinston!) hoping to see some favorable numbers compared to 2012. That afternoon, I went home a little nervous because the media kept their narrative going that turnout was looking great for Hillary, and then Trump doing the GOTV for the Florida Panhandle didn't help my nerves too much either.

That night, my wife and I hosted around 10-12 of our friends (all MAGA of course) at our house for an Election Party. It was almost like a news studio in the living room with the computer on that NYT tracker, IPAD's opened to official state results, and the TV on FOX. We were all eating as the Florida results started coming in, and I remember feeling dejected when they started to show the results from Broward and Miami-Dade counties with Hillary surging to a big lead. States like NC and Ohio showed Hillary with an early lead. And then.....THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE. That's when the night made a complete 180. It was like a horse rallying and coming from behind in the final furlongs to win the race. Trump surged to a 100,000 vote lead in Florida, and ended up winning the state. That's when I knew he had a legitimate shot.

And then the Hillary leads in NC and Ohio started to evaporate due to the fact that the big cities were counted first. The rural areas in both states were Trump country. And then he surged to big leads in both states. And then Fox called NC for Trump. And then Ohio. Our house went nuts. We were all high fiving each other, and started to get the alcohol rolling. For every state Fox called for Trump, we would turn the channel to MSNBC. Maddow and Matthews looked like they were at a funeral. The sadness and shock in their faces were entertaining in itself.

As the night went on, my phone was blowing up with texts from friends about the states Trump was carrying. Then at about 11:30 PM, Fox called WISCONSIN. That's when I knew we were going to win this election. We all erupted when that happened. That state never had Trump in a lead in ANY of the polls leading up to the election. When he won that state, I knew America had MAGA'd. The house again erupted when they called Pennsylvania, and we all went outside to pop the champagne. That's when almost everyone went home. The meltdown on CNN and MSNBC and the libs crying at the Hillary rally were pure entertainment and joyous.

I watched Trump's victory speech, and then my wife and I went to sleep. All in all, it was a great day to MAGA.

I watch this video at least once a week. And if I walk into work and see one of only a couple of libs that I work with I always greet them with, "sorry to keep you waiting. Complicated business."

super busy night for me. 4 kids; daughter had a program at school and had lots of daddy-baby duty on my plate so i was jonesing to turn the TV on by 9pm or so as my wife was saying 'peace, out' and heading to bed.

i was so fricking excited that i was about to pee my pants. fired up TD, poured a bourbon and sat back and enjoyed one of the best nights i can remember in a long time.

used the electionboard talk as my cue to switch to the various networks during key times

Loved reading through this thread

My story starts in late October. My wife and I were in the panhandle of Florida for some r&r and we were completely blown away by the amount of Trump signage. Seemingly every yard had a MAGA yard sign. Most of the local businesses we went to that week gave out yard signs, bumper stickers, etc. for free. I couldn't believe it.

On election day we woke up early and did our duty and voted. My father in law started sending us pictures from the polling station in Trussville, AL. Line stretched out the door, into the parking lot, and around the street. A sea of red MAGA hats chanting Roll Tide/War Eagle, Lock her up, and U-S-A.

Both of these stories are anecdotal but they made me optimistic that middle America was rising up and voting for DJT.

Didn't pay much attention during the work day, but had friends over to our house to watch the results that night. When he stayed close in Virginia I felt confident he would win. I think around this time the NYT tracker started trending prohibitively in favor of DJT.

The rest of the night was a celebration for us. Watching the collective melt at Hillary ground zero was amazing.

I'll never forget:
1. Podesta pulling a Baghdad Bob to send the children home.
2. Van Jones CNN meltdown.
3. DJT's magnanimous victory speech in the early hours of the morning.

Woke up the next day for work and felt like the bizarro world of the last 16 years might be fading away.
