I wish this would conclude one way or the other.
They’ve passed enough notes at this point to know if there will be a deal or not.
Every day that passes weakens the resolve. I’m honestly shocked Trump has allowed it to stretch out this long.

At this juncture I think WH wanted Iran to make the Strait impassable and blow up the gulf states. For example, perhaps we're trying to force some grand bargain with China and energy pressures may get them to make the deal we want?

He's kind of put himself in a corner. If they refuse to "make a deal" there are no easy options left. Bombing the shite out of them was easy. Using our Naval assets in the Strait is easy. There is nothing easy on the table from here on out.

I’m afraid that if we did get the uranium and did track it back to the U1 deal, our good friends on (supposedly) our side, like Linseee Graham and Marco Rubio and Mike Huckabee will be telling Trump “this is too damaging for the people to know”, and he’ll listen.

You may recall that the Shah was overthrown in 1979. I don't know if you were alive then. I was a freshman in college at the time.
A lot of people wanted the Shah out, but not necessarily the "secular" government. The government that remained after the Shah left invited Ayotollah Khomeni to return. He didn't actually take power until 10 months later.
I'm pretty sure that Average Joe Iranian is pretty tired of the current regime and wants the country to return to a more secular system. I'm not sure they want to return to a monarchy, though.

When I used to play poker a lot back in a previous life, gambled a lot actually, I used to do and say all kinds of things to frick with my opponents. I liked to see someone like you at the table.
