Not a smart move. Those missiles have been tracked since they left whatever tunnel they were hiding in and then tracked back to their point of origin and will be struck with a quickness in a few hours.

We have an extended Ceasefire. These missiles are safe for now.

Seems to me that the "violence" Phase of the war is over and the current Phase will continue for the foreseeable future.

Trump was accurate when he told us from the beginning that the war would last for weeks, not months.

I think that the "violence" phase of the war is over.

I don't know about that. Ukraine has a tremendous incentive to be a really good ally to the US, Europe, and anyone putting pressure on Iran.

Zelensky's already proven his disregard for the Trump administration. His only incentive is for the US to keep funding a Ukraine war in which the US has no national interest, at a cost that massively exceeds any benefit Ukraine can provide in Iran. Also, Europe is not a reliable ally for the US either.

So Pakistan is calling the shots for the USA now?

I find that hard to believe.

Trump may have a strategy change somewhat after the DC meeting today.

Keep killing them until we find some that will agree to our terms.

We have more bombs than they have radicals.

Can someone fill me on what’s going on? I thought things were looking bleak for peace and the ceasefire was almost certainly going to expire.

It may be for optics. Iran is sure to do something dumb and then Trump can be seen as reasonable to start bombing again.

But remember, the blockade stays in effect and starves Iran of about 500M per day.

Trump doesn’t need to be in a rush to start bombing the second the deadline is over.

Day 8 of the blockade. Allegedly the big effects start hitting about the end of this week, beginning of next. I guess we'll see what happens between now and then.

Mohammadi calls the extension “a ploy to buy time for a surprise strike.”

“The time for Iran to take the initiative has come.”

Trump already dispelled the "Trump is a deranged madman" talk with his first six extensions of his "Bridge and Power Plant" warning. With this seventh extension, it just feeds into the Iranian hardliners' argument that Trump is a business guy at heart who doesn't have the stomach for war if it causes markets to decline. And that, if they just hold firm, Trump will eventually cave on the war as a whole and not just a cease fire.

Reagan understood that you get peace through strength, not appeasement. Wish Trump would realize that.

The blockade may be able to get the job done of bringing Iran to its knees. Or, if we bomb Iran again, it may be smart to "extend" the ceasefire in order to surprise them when we attack.

I don't know.

Glad we’re past the violent stage of the war.
If we’re at the fiery, but mostly peaceful stage, life should be back to normal any day now.

I’m not knocking Regan at all, he was a great president when this country needed leadership after Carter. Carter was a decent man but a terrible president.

But Regan did some shady shite with Iran if you recall or was around then. Regan wanted to keep the USSR out of Iran and some agree he did trade arms for hostages.

Israel at the time was more than happy to keep Iraq/Iran at each other’s throats instead of theirs and who could blame them.

But to say Trump is crawfishing or is losing his backbone is a stretch. He’s the only president that’s ever put a foot in Irans arse. The blockade was always part of the plan as we know. Iran can Sabre Rattle all it wants. The blockade is devastating on them and it’s the all in moment to call their bluff.

If you are going to attack, it makes zero sense to do now when their guard is raised.

We haven’t spent billions the last two weeks moving personnel and equipment there to do nothing but blockade.

My guess is the Houthis get hit first.

To bad a bomb or two could not have hit there during this celebration.
