People need to pay attention to what the ten point plan doesn’t say. There’s no mention of keeping nukes or funding/protecting their “partners” in the region. On its face this isn’t that far off from the Venezuela deal if you look at it. For example, they collect fees that will be used to rebuild. It doesn’t say where those fees will be held. If managed by a third party, this may be tenable.

Thinking about the toll thing. The country most reliant on oil that passes through the strait is China. Nearly 40% of their oil imports transit the strait. About 2% of our imported oil comes through the strait. IF the toll thing happens, China would be on the hook for the bulk of it.

That would be a development.

The ceasefire also helps the Navy get mine sweeping ships to the Gulf.

There are no refineries on those two islands. There is an NGL frac plant on one and oil export terminal on the other.

Putting a toll on international waters is not tenable.

It seems like the 2-week ceasefire was doomed before the ink even dried, maybe the US will honor their part and just gtfo

study up on the Twelver mullahs and the fanatical nature of their beliefs.

Interesting thing about the Twelvers is that they belief the Twelfth Imam and Jesus will team up together to defeat the anti-Christ.

The American public obviously care more about domestic issues, particularly the economy, than far away threats. I don't think most truly understand the threat the Iran posed.

On top of that, the administration is constantly bragging about how successful our bombing campaign has been, which is has. But when you keep saying how successful we've been, then it is difficult for many people to understand why we need to continue.

Ok, I’ll say it. The biggest losers in all of this are the Iranian people. For weeks we’ve told them to wait and when the time comes take back their government. So now what? Are we just going to leave them at the mercy of the regime?

Exactly how I feel. This is a big fu to them if we allow the IRGC to remain in power.

It does not matter what Iran agrees to do or not do. They want a nuke. They will try to get a nuke. That is why regime change is the only way to get a win out of this and not another postponement.

I don't believe Iran ever agreed to a cease fire. I think maybe it was just a ploy to reduce the number of missiles they shoot if some remote operations believed it.
