Thinking about the toll thing. The country most reliant on oil that passes through the strait is China. Nearly 40% of their oil imports transit the strait. About 2% of our imported oil comes through the strait. IF the toll thing happens, China would be on the hook for the bulk of it.

China would not pay the tolls. China would be getting sweet deal again just like they were before. China gets half priced oil and Iran gets military hardware. Things would go back to the way they were. Same regime same desires, same result.

This whole ceasefire looks and smells like massive pile of dog shite. We will be right back to bombing them in a couple of weeks, but only after they have smuggled in more hardware from China and Russia.

Cool, but this doesn’t explain…

who pays the fees?

Agreed it’s a failure if the IRGC stays in power

All I have hope for now is that Israel does the right thing and over throws the IRGC. Leaving them in control would be the second largest foreign policy mistake in my lifetime, giving them money was the first.

The tariff rate on China is already averaging 50%. So no penalty?

People need to pay attention to what the ten point plan doesn’t say. There’s no mention of keeping nukes or funding/protecting their “partners” in the region. On its face this isn’t that far off from the Venezuela deal if you look at it. For example, they collect fees that will be used to rebuild. It doesn’t say where those fees will be held. If managed by a third party, this may be tenable.

Yep, I saw it. There are ways around all of that. China sends to NK, NK sends to Iran. Or China sends to Iran and tries to hide it from us.

Sanctioning China as a solution via tariffs is a bad deal anyway. We are trying to stabilize the ME and will doing that by destabilizing East Asia. That is worse. China hates us as much as Iran.

All China and Iran need to do to f over the USA is to sell the Iranian oil in something other than the US dollar. That is it. That is what they did right after the war started. Right now this "great victory" is putting pressure on Iran to not attack countries in the ME and instead just hit the USA much harder with a tactic that doesn't involve firing a single shot.

This morning, I asked President Trump if he’s okay with the Iranians charging a toll for all ships that go through the Strait of Hormuz, he told me there may be a Joint US-Iran venture to charge tolls:

The ceasefire is dogshit. The way I look at it, operation human shield won Iran a battle, but certainly didnt win a war. Yes the IRGC will have time to regroup. Yes the straight is open for traffic...temporarily. Yes the US will make good on their promise to bomb them into the Stone ages. Except this time unannounced now that we forced them to show their play. This is much like calling a time out on a 4th down play to see how they line up.

It is an international water way. No one has a right to charge a toll on it. The only reason anyone is doing so right now is under the threat of being fired upon by the muslim terrorists of the IRGC.

Wtf is actually happening here? I’m having a real hard time believing that the Iranians agreed to this
