The IRGC released a statement calling on the entire Muslim world to form a military security alliance without the United States or Israel, declaring Iran is "ready" to lead it.
"We do not need a state thousands of kilometers away to guarantee the security of our region."
This is the IRGC's postwar vision: replace American influence in the Middle East with an Islamic military pact led by Tehran.

The president said something misleading. To confuse Americans about his plans.
$580M oil trades made minutes before Trump’s key Iran announcement draw scrutiny
Over half a billion dollars in oil bets were placed just 15 minutes before President Trump announced Monday he was pausing plans to attack Iranian infrastructure, sending prices plunging.
In a narrow window between 6:49 a.m. and 6:50 a.m. Eastern Time, about 6,200 Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude futures trades were placed — a burst of activity valued at about $580 million, according to the Financial Times.
Around the same time, volumes in S&P 500 futures also spiked, with equity markets beginning to move higher just moments later.
Then at 7:04 a.m., Trump posted on Truth Social that the US had engaged in “productive conversations” with Iran and signaled a pause in planned strikes — a message that caught markets off guard.
It was not known exactly how the trades were positioned, though the flurry of activity suggests the bets were on falling oil prices.
In that case, whoever placed the wagers would have been poised to reap a handsome profit.
I'd connect the dots for those of you who can't see it but I know you wouldn't believe me if I tried.
For anyone who isn't a member of his cult of personality, someone made a killing, who do you think it was, hmmm?

If you read back through the thread, you'll notice I was referring to something the President said last summer, not yesterday morning. And you apparently don't know how the quote function works either (enclose your quote text between two dancing banana emojis).
You've been here 20 months and 2000 posts and you still can't figure out how this simple message board format works. With all due respect, geopolitics may not be your strong suit.

NEW | Evening Iran Update (1/5)
Iran is reportedly requiring some vessels to pay a fee to transit the Strait of Hormuz. Maritime intelligence company Lloyd’s List reported on March 23 that over 20 vessels have taken a “Tehran-approved route” to transit the Strait of Hormuz through Iranian territorial waters since the war began. Lloyd’s List reported that at least two vessels, including a Chinese state-owned feeder tanker, have paid Iran a fee in exchange for safe passage through the strait.

NEW: The IDF has struck over 3,000 targets, including military headquarters and weapons warehouses, across Iran since the start of the war. Israel struck over 50 targets, including sites used to launch and store ballistic missiles, in northern and central Iran overnight on March 23 and 24. (1/2)
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, with the approval of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, appointed Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr as secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), which is Iran’s highest national security and foreign policy decision-making body.
Zolghadr has deep ties to the IRGC, having previously served as the IRGC deputy commander and coordination deputy. Zolghadr replaced former SNSC Secretary Ali Larijani, whom the IDF killed on March 17.
Iran has continued to launch ballistic missiles targeting Israel, including missiles that contain cluster munition warheads. A cluster bomb sub-munition impacted in a Haifa suburb, while a ballistic missile impacted in Tel Aviv, causing extensive damage to nearby homes and lightly injuring four people.
Iran has continued to target the Gulf states. ISW-CTP has not observed any impacts in these countries since 3:00 PM ET on March 23.

2/ The combined force continued to strike Iranian ballistic missile infrastructure to degrade Iran’s missile capabilities. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it has conducted more than 600 strikes targeting Iranian ballistic missile sites since the start of the war.
The combined force continued to strike industrial sites and companies with ties to the Iranian Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics. The IDF reported that it conducted an “extensive” wave of strikes targeting Iranian “production sites” in Esfahan Province and other areas of Iran on March 24.

Sounds just like the children on this board. They’ve been told 100 times what the objective is and not only still ignore it but try to speak for the military personnel not knowing it.

Ive repeatedly said that loyalty in Iran is not to country or religion. It is to strength.
I think they continue to project strength and power because they know that their army crumbles when their leadership proves ineffective and weak.
You are spot on. I love a quote by Osama Bin Laden, when asked why they attacked the WTC he said, “People prefer a strong horse. We had to show we were strong.” You know who else knows this and acts on it? Donald Trump. This is why Trump says things like, “He died like a dog” and “This war is already won”.

What is unclear is what he's attempting with the outcome here - seems like he's trying to make a show of attempting to negotiate while knowing it won't go anywhere.
This is what I think is going on. Perhaps I’m biased by my own predictions when the war broke out, though. I think the allies are killing off the radicals in the IRGC and negotiating with the pragmatists. The strident statements you are hearing from the regime are coming from the radicals and mean nothing - they are not involved in the negotiations.
The real negotiations involve how much money the pragmatists will be allowed to take out of Iran and put in foreign bank accounts. These are people who have large families that have been living privileged lives jetsetting around Europe and the ME. So when we see the sanctions lifted on Iranian oil already at sea, it makes me think that deals are being made, and that revenue is funding those deals.
There are three factors that will have to increase for a critical mass of deals to be made: 1. More radicals being killed 2. More pragmatists feeling threatened and 3. More money being offered to the right people.

So they want the same countries they have been attacking for weeks to suddenly ally with them and look to them as leadership? When all those countries have been tired of iran crap for decades? Ok sure.
