Couldn't imagine the actual shite show if Biden or Harris tried to handle this plan with Venezuela and iran.

Imagine the media spin on that too.

They would have sent them pallets of cash.

Iran would take hostages and those pallets of cash would be encouraging the following hostage crisis.

The Obama/Biden form of "helping" with international relations with Iran only leads to a next crisis.

So that whoe "rise up and take your country back" stuff was just a lie? Rise up and help us impose new leaders you don't want!

Any of you still think there was a plan?

You sound terribly misinformed and clearly leaving out pertinent pieces of the story.

Trump already said to stay home until the time is right.

Now is not the right time. You think going out and protesting is a wise move while bombs are being dropped on your city?

I think it was an optimistic hope at the beginning, just like we thought and hoped the Kurds would launch a ground invasion. That being said you can't expect a population to start a revolution when bombs are falling around them. Even more so when it is an unarmed population.

You seem to be conveniently ignoring the “When we signal you” part.

That was given by both the American and Israeli in the first day or two. And repeated many times over.

But you choose to be obtuse. It’s cool, being obtuse makes your internet argument better I guess.

We did NOT hope that. That would destroy any chance of getting a popular uprising. The balance of the Iranians hate and fear the Kurds. If there were a Kurdish armed intrusion, into the non-Kurdish regions of Iran, it would tend to drive the Persians and Azeris back into the arms of the regime.

The question remains, how do you arm, organize, and coordinate with any groups on the ground effectively? You’ll need to do all 3 of those things to have any shot at regime change. I don’t have much confidence in the success of that, but it’ll be interesting to watch it all unfold.

Then why were we in contact with the Kurds about them starting a ground operation? We were trying to convince them to, but they didn't because we wouldn't guarantee any air support or help if they started one. We basically said it would be nice if y'all launched something but we can't help if you do

Probably because we left other Kurdish groups out to dry multiple times in the past. America has no loyalty to anyone. Which is why it’s hilarious to hear the neocons crying about our former allies not backing yet another clusterfrick in the Middle East.

We not only didn't want that we stopped it from happening.

There's multiple videos released directly to the Iranian population from multiple people, specifically telling them to wait until we are done with the initial phases.

This highly suggests we will be arming them.

You know this. We know you know this. It's been mentioned multiple times in this thread.

You are trolling. There is no other conclusion. Please stop doing that. You are beyond contrarian.

Only a guess - because we wanted them fighting the regime WITHIN their territory.

Two points about this:

1. This might have been just Trump talking off the top of his head as he sometimes does.
2. The Kurds have been used like this many times in the past. Each time they get abandoned to the merciless revenge of the regime that is left in place or the new regime which doesn’t include the Kurds because reality set in and the deals were made at their expense.
