An interesting historical fact:
We had a secret project that attempted to use bats to further carry out the fire bombing. We strapped a backpack full of napalm and a small explosive charge to a bunch of bats with the intention of releasing thousands of them above Japanese cities and towns. The goal was for them to fly to roosting spots in the wood frame and paper structures where the charges would detonate, setting the napalm and structures on fire.

We dubbed it Project X-Ray. The success of the Manhattan Project, and a disastrous (yet successful) test run that blew up/burned a general's new car sent the project to the dustbin of history.
