To actually transfer, yes.

But there is no restriction on getting yourself out there before the window opens. Why do you think those that have said they are entering the portal did so?

It’s all about marketing yourself.

Texas has 7 players so far that are planning to enter the Portal or opt out to enter the NFL draft

That number is actually pretty damn low. No need to wait around, the players have no reason to not quickly declare and move on.

I wonder if they will rethink their spending going forward?

Absolutely. We will spend more.

And we should, because it ain’t my damn money, and the system allows it.
I don’t think there is anything that can be done to create a perfect playoff scenario.

The system in place actually worked as designed, there are far too many teams in CFB to set up a NFL style system.

Excluding the G5 teams to create a super conference league would immediately result in major lawsuits that under current antitrust laws the super conferences would lose.

Going to a BCS style selection process would not fix anything The BCS was just as broken, if not more so, as the current system.

As long as ND is an independent, their outsized influence will cause turmoil.

In the grand scheme of things, our current situation is the less fricked solution.

We all know that inside they are so green with envy they are about to bust!

It would be silly of me to not acknowledge there are those of us that do feel this way.

But as for myself, no envy. Just some lingering annoyance about how uneven this team was this season.

Beating very good versions of OU-A&M is something to take pride in. But of course that is not enough, and we had our chances but failed.

It’s OK. Next year man.

BTW, and I mean this with all sincerity, beat the ever living shite out of Miami.

quote:

I feel the Longhorns might approve of me joining their ranks

Absolutely not.

I need A&M guys around here that I don’t want to bitch slap…

That’s you.
Yeah, the current forecast is pretty decent for OKC. But considering Oklahoma is basically southern Kansas, any 10 day forecast is pretty much guaranteed to change.
I do not trust this years version of Oregon at all. I think Tech will be playing with their hair on fire, I KNOW Tech fans will move heaven and earth to find a way to Miami for the game.

I really think Tech gets this one.
Texas should be pretty loaded talent wise. Get the O-line right enough to have a solid running game and that should put Texas in a good position.

The fact that the SEC has somehow managed to set our alternating schedule in a way that we miss both Alabama and Georgia next year is no small thing.
With Indiana and Texas Tech the big thing is now being considered a legitimate option by higher level players. On field success breeds further success.

For those two programs, it’s a HUGE thing getting a top four playoff spot.
quote:

in the overall scheme of things aren't they all kind of meaningless?

Historically, most bowl games have always been meaningless by definition.

But Texas has a matchup with a Michigan, best go kick arse.

Notre dame being left out is erotic

Hey.. It’s no Dildo party, but whatever floats your boat,
quote:

Bad look for Notre Dame to reject this.

It is. The conniption fit FSU had obviously destroyed the program.
College football being a mess is tradition.

Tie games, NCAA monopoly on not being able to get on television more than twice per year, then the CFA, more NCAA shenanigans, $100 handshakes, recruiting, BCS, computers, the polls, the list is endless and ongoing…

But no matter how much they try to make me not watch, it’s my damn passion.

Cheez-it Citrus

That sounds like something I would eat while EXTREMELY drunk.

During. At least that’s the rumor I just started.
I’m cool with that.

Beating Michigan is always fun. Get to 10 wins, go into the offseason with some good thoughts for next year.

Shame there is no SEC affiliation with the Alamo Bowl, it’s kind of tradition around here.

It's all about money and secret handshakes in the board room

2024 Alabama really kills that argument.
