You are never gonna get rid of evil in the world or shield yourself from it. These fights will continue forever. Is your suggestion to turn a blind eye and let them grow and build into a powerhouse? There is no easy answer in these situations. At some point in time this event had to happen don't you think? Why not now when our alliances are strong and before theirs get stronger? If it does succeed it can put America is a very advantageous geo political position. Unfortunately people take positions on events solely because of Trump.

If the IRGC is mobilizing units into the streets to control the peoplethen they know the end is near. They have to know that they have been significantly degraded to a point where a well coordinated armament if Iranians from Mossad and CIA is a serious threat.
ETA, I would expect as another poster pointed out either drone or possibly helicopter attacks on those IRGC units on patrol.
