When will we start escorting ships and patrolling the strait? I’m assuming that’s happening now?
Shouldn’t be too difficult to spot where these problems come from I would imagine

The White House said yesterday that we were not escorting ships through the Straits. I have seen some posts on X about the Pentagon saying that the US Navy was declining requests for escorts because it was too dangerous but those posts do not provide any evidence to back up that claim.

That is the problem with modern naval warfare close to shore. Russia destroyed the Ukrainians navy on the first day of their war but Ukraine has crippled the Russian Black Seas fleet by using USVs and missiles. Those USVs do not need extensive infrastructure to operate. If Irans USVs are anything like Ukraine's USVs then all they need to launch is a pickup truck and a section of beach with the right slope for a trailer to be backed into the water without getting stuck.

in 6 months Israel will be screaming Iran is 30 days from a nuclear weapon.
How quickly they forget. We'll be lucky if this is over in 6 months.
Think about what Israel did after the Hamas attack. They didn't just mount a retaliatory strike, the Israelis leveled the entire country, taking as long as they wanted and to hell with collateral damage (i.e. the Palestinians who were no fans of being under Hamas thumb but unable to do anything about it). Protests by other countries didn't slow them down one iota. They had ample provocation and took advantage of it.
Now as stated previously, Netanyahu has been pushing the U.S. to commence hostilities with Iran for 40 years to provide top cover for Israel's actions. Do you think he is going to stop just because old Bonespurs is worried about the mid-terms? As long as Israel can keep stirring the pot Iran will find some way of striking back. They can still receive munitions from China, Russia and everyone's favorite, North Korea.
Netanyahu led Trump by the nose into doing this and now he is stuck with a war that is going to turn everyone except you meth heads against him cuz it ain't going nowhere anytime soon.
