Iran has funded and armed forever wars and permanent instability in countries like Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and caused tension with Saudi Arabia/gulf states, they were also an active participant in Sudan (which is the biggest butchery going on for years now, but no one talks about it).
Removing them from the board is a great investment in the long run. The status quo was always waiting for the shite to hit the fan, just not at a time of our choosing. The isolationists seem to be living in the antebellum era, its a global world whether people want to participate or not and has been for generations.
