There has been progress between Oman and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz and a deal is expected soon, with the US set to lift its blockade of Iranian ports, Reuters reported Friday, citing a US official.

The official said the blockade would be lifted once a deal was announced to restore commercial shipping through the strait without impediments, according to the report.

US actions would remain performance-based and tied to Iran’s implementation of its commitments, the official told Reuters.

All those sports cars, mansions and large, mostly empty towers were more important to them at the time.

This will be yet another mistake in a long line of mistakes.
Blockade should remain in place until they act right, and not a momment before.

Let them behave for 6 months with a blockade in place then do a tiered withdrawal over 2 years.
Gradually let them move their ships. 1 a month over time.
Why do we keep doing this to ourselves.

They have been attacking ships daily and we have done nothing because Trump doesn't want to derail a "deal". A deal that will never bear anything but rotten fruit.

But hey, what is important is that our "Great" and "Valuable" friends in the middle east are not upset, particular Qatar.

We have screwed this whole thing up so badly starting with calling off the dogs in April until now. This shite would be over already had he not acquiesced to the Islamic Republic's friends in Pakistan and Qatar.

They have paid a lot for our protection just by agreeing to sell their oil in US dollars. In no way shape or form do we want that arrangement to end. And Iran/China is trying its hardest to make it happen. Sure it would be nice to see them do more militarily for their own defense but that reliance is pretty comforting right now.

I think everyone knows he is dead at this point, the regime is trying to soften the blow for when their hardline supporters find out that he is dead. They are going to try to hide the fact that Vahidi has been using his name as a tool, illegitimately to wield power, and that Jr. has been dead for quite some time.

Good news maybe? Surely they knew they couldn’t keep this up for long.

The Kurds should have delivered those weapons as they had agreed to. Now DJT is taking away US air defense so they can get some FO action.

Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, says the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed unless the United States “corrects its behavior.”

He said Iran’s conditions include an end to threats against Tehran, a permanent halt to attacks on Iran and its allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, and Iraq, the lifting of the naval blockade, the withdrawal of U.S. naval and air forces from areas near Iran, full compensation for damages from the wars, the removal of sanctions, and the unconditional release of frozen Iranian funds.

Shamkhani added that the Supreme National Security Council will not retreat from these demands “neither in war nor in negotiation

Because most American Citizens would rather have lower gas prices than getting rid of the IRGC. We have an extremely selfish makeup of citizens.

It will be the downfall of the US.

Because one has immediate impact on the quality of life of Americans whereas the impact of a regime is highly speculative. What exactly is replacing it? How does it really impact your life?
