I can only respond to the points you actually write down. You:

quote:

The reason it's "closed" is that the insurance companies have threatened the ship owners that they won't pay if something happens. The insurance companies and owners have cowered to the threats by Iran, not the US.

You're implying that the insurance companies and/or ship owners are doing something out of the ordinary here. They're not, this is a standard business practice. They don't have to "threaten" them, it's part of the contract that both parties agreed to. The insurance companies know it, the ship owners know it and Iran knows it.

We should hope those rather obvious realities didn't catch the administration by surprise.

This is actually kind of scary. Trump has convinced a decent portion of his base that any bad news is fake. So, there is almost no way to hold the administration accountable if they are botching anything or wrong about anything. It will just be spun as someone with an agenda trying to undermine a successful operation.

Fair. The scary version of this isn’t any one report being right or wrong. It’s when people decide ahead of time which kinds of sources can never be right. At that point there’s no way to update, no matter what actually happens.

Trump hasn't convinced anyone - We have watched the NTY and others lie and promote hoax after hoax concerning trump - and give democrats every pass in the book - You would be a complete low iq fig to believe anything the msm says or prints. I trust Trump - he has given me zero reason not to trust him - he is always proven right in the end.

1. Fine People Hoax
2. Drinking Bleach Hoax
3. Russian Collusion Hoax
4. Jan6 was an insurrection
5. Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd
6. Shadow banning isn’t real
7. Climate models predict the future

just a few - and the list keeps growing.

Yeah, those are good examples of how messy it gets. The issue isn’t people getting things wrong - it’s when you rule out entire categories in advance. That’s when you lose any way to update.

These past weeks during the ceasefire while Iran was restocking, US intelligence has been watching ever one of these sites and lots more locations and backtracking to learn where the stockpiles are located and developing target list. If the shooting starts again, the Iranians will lose a lot of assets that were protected on the first run.

Logically the math on this assumption just doesn’t add up. The US and Israel launched hundreds, possibly thousands of strikes on Iran. Let’s low ball that 100 of them were on missile sites with it likely being much higher but let’s give it a low number. That would mean that Iran would have to possess roughly 900 more sites and by the articles on statistics Iran only possess 30ish along the Strait. Which would mean Iran has nearly 1k said sites in other less vital regions which militarily and logically makes zero sense.

"apparently, didn't foresee the clear consequences"?

Goodness. Something TDS'd this way comes ... Et tu Brute?

A mole rat would easily understand Iran's ultimate goal is control of the strait. A mole rat's dumbest sibling would know Iran was going to sabotage traffic thru those waters in this instance ... because Iran went there on every occasion it perceived a threat since Jimmy Carter handed the country to the Ayatollahs.

Come on!
Now then, with the US obviously capable of flattening every Iranian asset in Hormozgan province, and taking 100% control of Hormuz, the question is what's the wider game afoot.

l California Democrat way of thinking. Did you ever think maybe we needed a little time to restock being so far from America with no help from those cowards in Europe.

And a 12 Year past of Cowardly and incompetent Democrat Presidents that were out to destroy this country.

I bet you voted for them every time. Including that rat Newsome.

Probably that moron Harris too.

Don't believe everything you read or hear from the New York Times or any politician. Think for yourself. If it doesn't sound right question it.

Even though i am Republican i dont beive every word they speak either.

Bill Clinton I did not have sexual relations with that woman.

I think President Trump should have gone to Congress and explained in a private session what needed to happen and the Democrats would have had their say. Then he would have had a choice to make.

I agree we needed to do something, And the Democrats would have still disagreed because that is all they do now.

Now it may involve doing just that and having war declared.

Either way now we have to finish the job so another 45 years of letting these nutjobs reign terror and sponsoring other terror organizations to do the same with their oil money.

Do you handle it their or wait for the war to be here. And our schools and cities are the ones being attacked.

I vote there and now. We should have done this when they took the hostages. This is what waiting does.

You're presumably too intelligent to think that's a real response.

The messaging from the admin on this entire effort has been inconsistent at best, so it's normal to question if everything is going according to plan. It's clearly not. Attempting to dismiss that reality as TDS is usually for the window licking crowd.

Completely different premise than claiming no one anticipated Iran threatening the strait. The latter, my friend, is stupid.
