Which is most pro-LSU? Or maybe which will be the best for LSU?

This is what you use to decide who you want to vote for?

The level of dysfunction in the LA GOP isn’t fully understood by posters here. Well, kingbob knows, but he has abandoned us in our time of need

I'm a Christian who Loves God
I'm a pro gun loving Conservative and value my Constitutional rights
Landry checks all my boxes.
Married, faithful, father, outdoorsman, deep Christian.
Hes in politics and I'm sure there have been stumbles along the way. We all stumble in life.

If that makes me an idiot in your eyes, it's not me that needs to be fixed.

It’s politics. They’re all “Christians who love God”, they all “love their guns”, and they’re all “married, faithful, fathers”

What? You mean that alone doesn’t separate a candidate from the rest of the field?

I'd love to see how far an atheist who hates guns and is a Trump-level cheater would go in LA politics

Atheist would be a tough sell to the black community, but I bet a wealthy white lib neighborhood would eat that up. I’d imagine someone meeting that description would top out at state Senator in the legislature.

Nelson is my favorite atm. I’m looking forward to learning more from Hewitt and Schroeder.

Exactly.

Even John Bel Edwards ran (at least in 2015) as a pro-2nd Amendment, pro-life, Democrat.

This is what’s going to be interesting with the Louisiana Democrat Party. They KNOW (at least the ones who understand winning elections) that an outright anti-2nd Amendment, raise taxes, abortion on demand candidate cannot win state-wide in Louisiana. Yet, so many of them voice on social media of wanting to put forth and support a “true liberal who represents their views” as the Democrat in the runoff this year for Governor.

It’s a losing proposition. If they’re serious about winning state-wide, they have to find another JBE-type candidate, and I don’t know if such a candidate exists AND is willing to run. John Breaux ain’t coming back to Louisiana, and Nick Gautreaux has been out of the State Legislature for too long. No one younger than about 35 would know who he is.

Francis Thompson?

Y’all are giving the parties too much credit…

The system we have has made them irrelevant. The candidates put themselves out there. Remember when we had JBE against three Republicans? Voters don’t play along either. Remember when voters stayed home because it wasn’t their guy in the runoff?

All the Covid bullshite in this state would have been vastly different with an (R) in the governor’s mansion.

There’s times when it’s mostly irrelevant. That highlighted one time where it is very relevant.
