The National Archives, in a rare instance, made a public statement refuting Trump’s claim that Obama took classified documents. Has something changed?

Trump does not tweet/truth off the cuff. He is dropping little hints. And he kept talking about this to the point the National Archives released a statement. When does the government ever do something that quickly?
