I’m still embarrassed about voting for that 2012 ticket of Mitt/Ryan.
As icky as it is, you still have to consider the opponent.
It's still mindboggling to actually think that's where the party really was barely 10 years ago, though.

Pretending any presidential election since 1992 was anything but a pure binary choice.

They're all "real Republicans." Remember, you're the party of the "big tent."
I'll have to admit, with the exception of Romney, those are some unsavory dudes. In fact, W's gross wickedness and deceit in barreling headfirst into Iraq and lying about Saddam and 9-11, and WMD's, destabilized the Middle East for all time and has emboldened Iran out of all proportion.

It's how it's been since the 60s
And let's not do revisionist history like there wasn't legitimate support. That was no "hold my nose and vote" scenario. Who was the female poster wetlegging Ryan daily? I remember her melting over the "let's get fiscal" stuff
And I know that there was legit support b/c I have always hated McCain and was roasted for talking about him negatively. I'll change the avatar today in honor of this time period

Couldn't vote for Gore b/c I wasn't 18 yet, but I would have.
I did vote for Kerry.
I didn't become a libertarian until 2005 though. It is public knowledge (I posted pre-and post conversion).

I think you miss my point. It's one that is purely and admittedly retrospective. Those people were taking the party nowhere (and basically advancing nothing) and it's only abundantly clear now.

bwahahahaha. That's the not invited list.

The most significant policies Trump got implemented are their sort of policies
Tax cuts and Heritage Foundation judicial appointments were on Romney's agenda, too.
Who would Romney appoint to the Supreme Court?
quote:
On his website, Romney says he would nominate federal judges in the mold of Scalia, Chief Justice John Roberts, and Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. Romney says his judicial appointees "will exhibit a genuine appreciation for the text, structure, and history of our Constitution and interpret the Constitution and the laws as they are written. And his nominees will possess a demonstrated record of adherence to these core principles."
One person frequently mentioned as a possible Romney court pick is Paul Clement, the former U.S. solicitor general who argued against President Obama's health care law earlier this year and for Arizona's immigration law. Former U.S. attorney general John Ashcroft told New Yorkmagazine that it is "my aspiration, and expectation, that Paul will serve not only on a bench but the bench."
Clement, Brett Kavanaugh and Diane Sykes are all named in stories today by CNN and Yahoo! about possible Romney court appointments. Kavanaugh and Sykes serve on federal appellate courts, the level that's sometimes considered a stepping stone to the high court.
I hope I don't have to link Romney's stances on tax cuts.

Those are the best Republican’s ever according to the TDS Krewe.
