Literally preached on the good news for mankind, the simplicity found in believing upon Jesus alone for salvation. That’s what he was convicted of. Let that sink in real good, because this is the real progressive agenda.

'Dark day' as retired pastor is convicted for preaching John 3:16 near abortion facilities

quote:

A retired pastor has been found guilty of breaching an abortion clinic 'safe access zone' after he preached a sermon on John 3:16.

Pastor Clive Johnston, 78, was found guilty by a district judge at a hearing at Coleraine Magistrates in Northern Ireland on Thursday.

He has been convicted of two charges under the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) Act after he held an open-air service on the fringes of the buffer zone outside Causeway Hospital in Coleraine in July 2024.

quote:

“We held a small, open air Sunday service near a hospital. We made no reference whatsoever to the issue of abortion. And yet the buffer zones law is so broad that holding a Sunday service has been found to be a criminal offence. And at 78 years of age I find myself, for the first time, convicted of a crime," he said.

quote:

John 3:16 is one of the most beloved Bible verses, and states, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Speaking before Pastor Johnston's court hearing, Simon Calvert, Deputy Director of The Christian Institute, said that John 3:16 "is a wonderful, famous verse and everyone knows it says nothing about abortion". He accused the police and Public Prosecution Service of "overstepping the mark" and said that preaching the Gospel should not be conflated with protesting against abortion.

quote:

"Prosecuting Pastor Johnston for preaching ‘God so loved the world’ near a hospital on a quiet Sunday is a shocking new attempt to restrict freedom of religion and freedom of speech in a part of the world where open air gospel services are a part of the culture.”

Western Civilization has two choices:

1. Eradicate the cancer of the leftist progressive (actually Marxist) movement by whatever means necessary.

2. Accept the destruction of Western Civilization.

There are no other choices.

Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying,
“Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
“As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
I will tell of the decree:
The LORD said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”
Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

My dad’s family were largely from Ireland. I have always wanted to go and check it out. It’s a shame what has happened there over the last 20 years or so. Abortion didn’t become legal until 2018 in Ireland. Now they are arresting clergymen.

Penalty: He was fined £450 and convicted of failing to comply with a police order to leave.

quote:

The individual convicted and fined £450 for breaching a safe access zone and failing to comply with a police order was within the immediate vicinity—or "inside" the designated safe access zone (100-250 meters) —of the Causeway Hospital in Northern Ireland

Seems like he wouldn't have got in trouble if he just complied and left when the police showed up to tell him he was in an area where services were prohibited.

There is an entire country to hold a service if you wanna demonstrate your faith, not sure why youd decide to do it outside a hospital in a zone that it is strictly prohibited unless you wanted to cause a scene.

There was an abortion clinic in my part of Shreveport that stayed open for over 40 years. It wasn’t unusual for me to drive by it several times a day. Often there were people out front marching and waving signs. There were also a steady stream of cars using the service.
More impressive than the crowds were the individuals who would protest alone. You would see one man or woman standing in front of the building praying all day sometimes for weeks and even months on end. One old guy made it year.Their dedication was impressive to say the least.
Anyway, I sometimes brought up to my friends and pointed out to my children.
That’s what America stands for…
People are taking an action that some disagree with
Other people have the freedom to stand there and say they think it’s wrong.

As horrible as it may sound to some, That was America at it’s finest.

Don't forget kicking islam out of the West. They are essentially telling these countries they won't tolerate anything negative said about hoMoe. They are holding the West hostage with their terroristic threats.

We ask ourselves this question all the time about the left yet:
1) they force their DEI in to everything and everyone.
2) They try and force their trannies in to our schools and children’s life.
3) They try and force illegals in to every community
4) They try and force you to believe everything they believe with the threat of ruining or taking a persons life if they do not comply.

The left only knows to constantly push their beliefs at the consequences of losing your job, family, social status, freedom or life.

I get it but we live in a society and rules/laws must be followed. If i disagree with the law restricting carrying a gun on campus, im still goin to jail if I do it.

What if 10,000 people showed up to all preach their own whatever within 100 meters of that hospital? That is gonna interfere with people accessing the care they are there to recieve and emergency services. This was a general hospital not an abortion clinic.

quote:

The judge said that Johnston was "a man of strong religious belief and good character.

"He is someone who in the past has been publicly associated with anti-abortion views," the judge said.

Coleraine Magistrates' Court was told that Johnston delivered a sermon at the event refraining from any mention of abortion, and that his decision to preach "was motivated by two reasons: to test the legislation and to influence anyone who heard him towards the Bible and the Christian message generally".

The judge added that Johnston deliberately placed himself within a safe access zone whilst being aware that he was at risk of breaching the law and without checking if abortion services were being provided that Sunday.

I see what you did there.

Ireland and a man who just wants to be left alone.

Is that a reference to the John Wayne classic "The Quiet Man".

So you Want him to back away from doing something that should be free to do anywhere? Then what? They come and tell him his church is too close to people who don't like Christianity, and he has to leave there, too? A man has to take a stand for what's right, sometimes, even if it gets him in trouble.

The police are the only people who caused a scene. The "buffer zone" doesn't say no one can come close. Obviously, it's some kind of protesting restricted area. So if he wasn't protesting, why would he be warned, much less arrested? These police infringed on this man's religious freedom, and he obviously wasn't going to take that. That's called courage.

But you'd rather he cowered, instead. Cowering is how we got to this point.
