Besides LSU laying an egg,

I’ve been pushing & writing “no tax on tips” on every reciept. I spoke to a few different bartenders. Each one said IRS is after them.

Kamala is pushing the same thing. How about we just pay them more than having people rely on tips to justify cheap wages.

I don't understand the restaurant industry in this country. Every smart investor I talk to says the food industry is a great way to separate a fool from his money. They buy food cheap as hell from Sysco and don't pay their staff worth a shite.

Where the frick does all the money go?

I'd bet most bartenders etc don't pay any federal income tax as is.
They don't make a lot of money, usually have kids etc.

Probably doesn't effect the bottom line much.

The landowner (banks) class. The majority of restaurants lease their property.

Maybe if you can’t afford kids, choose not to have kids

Agreed.
Everyone should pay something in federal taxes too.

But, I'm just pointing out "no tax on tips" is largely a marketing plot.
I don't think it effects much.

Rent, r&m, utilities, lawyers for all the lawsuits, labor, taxes, etc.

The cost of all these things have gone up over the past 3 years.

Have you ever had to call a plumber out to your house? That shite ain’t cheap.

This is going to mess up the FICA withholdings or is that still going to be taken out?

Better yet, outlaw tipping and "service fees"
Make the service industry be competitive wages for the better employees versus the customers. USA one of few tip heavy places left.

That's a pretty dumb statement. Some bartenders make a pretty good chunk. It depends on where they work. Lots of them make more than they would in a different industry.

Here is where it really helps. Most people making tips dont claim their full income on their taxes. They are not claiming a bunch of the cash they made so they avoid being taxed on it. (It is against tax code, but extremely common). That means when they go apply for a loan the bank cant consider their actual earning power.

Under the new proposal, those service workers are able to do so much more with their income. It's a good idea; that's why Ron Paul campaigned on it years and years ago.

No tax on income…period.

The federal income tax rate was zero percent until 1913 and the creation of the Federal Reserve.

End the Fed and abolish the IRS.

We could do that. It sounds like a reasonable plan. But, the money to pay these employees better has to come from somewhere. Employee cost is a company’s biggest expense. Paying their employees more will raise their costs and cut into their profits. They won’t “eat” that cost- sorry for the pun :). What will happen is that the owners will raise the prices of their food and services to offset the higher labor costs, passing on the burden to their customers.
